Hi, new member here. Any one care to share their experience with dan henry watches? They have an attractive range and reasonable price point watches available on their site. These 2 in particular caught my eye

I have the first gen 1970 40mm in orange. It's good value for money and fun to wear. I tend to take it on holidays when I want a vintage look with 200mm water resistance. It is a bit tall for its diameter.

i was really turned off by the first few releases. . seemed too close to "knock" off territory for me

that said, i saw this picture posted by eric wind of the 1937 chrono and immediately bought one

I think their compressor is pretty amazing looking - I certainly wouldn't mind having one as it has a better vintage look than my Hamilton Khaki Navy Diver, which is a compressor dual crown style, but a much more angular case.

If you can do better for 300 bucks I have no idea how

That black one has a real retro vibe goin on. What movement is in these things?

The chronos are quartz, but the compressors are automatics. Miyota if I recall correctly without looking it up.

without looking it up.

Yep that's my rule of thumb. Unless it's some sort of research or an impending purchase I rather have conversations than jump on google for everything.

Bought 5-6 over the last few years, the latest is a eye candy winner IMHO

The site suggests mainly (or all?) Seiko movements. Nice - and that price point is very tempting.

The non-divers are Seiko meca-quartz, I believe.

i think there's a market for it if they'd go up to the next price point and make it a manual wind.. compete with the Baltics of the world. but for 270 bucks i don't think the 1937 chrono can be beat. eric wind is right that silver dial is an absolute stunner and love the gilt one as well

Seiko NH35 in the date models. Not sure which caliber for the no-dates.

Great watches, I've had a 1963 for 3 years and have nothing to complain about!

Impressive. I'm not a huge fan of chrono's, but if it's USD 270 with that vintage look, and < 40mm, all they need is a mechanical movement and I'm in. Not sure if the 'dress chrono' branding is the best, but it's a nice looking watch nevertheless.

Automatics are in the dive watches.

Most impressive buying and delivery process they have. (YIKES, I'm starting to type like Yoda talks)

Love my 1963. It's hard wearing, feels great in both comfort and quality. I will never sell it.

Bought a 1962 (much later release for the company), sold it in a week. Looked and felt cheap.

Another first time Dan Henry buyer here. Almost had me with the 1964 panda but I could not resist the recently released 1937 gilt

Nice watches they could be solid for daily wear to keep the lux ones for special ocassions.

Just wanted to share this 1964 here, as I’ve not seen one on OF. I recently got it and, I just love it.

i thought it would look cheaper/worse in real life vs the pictures, but it’s the other way round.

For those looking for a Christmas present, look no further !
