I can confirm that many small businesses depend on the USPS for invoices, checks, etc. Many vendors and clients do not pay electronically, or accept electronic payment other then credit card. And financial institutions typically mail change of address confirmations to old and new addresses, meaning if someone steals your identity you are much more likely to find out before too many days pass.

My Uncle is a postman and his commentary is that the last few months have been at holiday season levels.
Thats true! Direct consequence of the pandemic

Here in my neck of the woods(Florida), I'd swear the post office is more efficient than ever. Most deliveries are faster than expected. I'm delighted because I use the post office exclusively for my business.

Bought watch for my wife from Japan on eBay. Purchased Tuesday evening 8/25 and arrived this afternoon 8/27 from DHL.

bought watch for me from Cali on 8/22 on eBay. Should be here in Chicago tomorrow 8/29 from USPS.

I’m not complaining about my watch. It’s only 1 week. But amazed how fast I got the watch from Japan.

With most of my state in lockdown, on-line purchasing has been exploding.

So has the Australia Post Tracking system.

Yeah, I wouldn’t say in the northeast here it’s more efficient but really I’m just noticing maybe 1-2 day delays as opposed to a year ago. And that’s only been on two watches parts I ordered for repairs I was doing around the house including parts of a door, some moulding, and parts for lawn equipment were either a day early or right on time. I will order that bracelet from uncle seiko next month probably I will pay close attention to that to report here but overall things really aren’t that bad here it’s quite obvious some people are seeing some crazy delays but probably most posting here are those experiencing the issues so it’s good to hear from those who are not.

In the midwest the delivers are pretty much normal. Which is to say they usually arrive on time, just sometimes to the wrong address!

Amazon recently shipped a package to me via USPS that was marked as delivered but I never received it. I'm not sure who Amazon is using for the replacement item but they're not very good either as the scheduled delivery date was originally September 10th. ::facepalm1::

I ordered a NATO strap in March and it arrived in July after I had already got a refund on it.

Sent a package to the UK and a letter to Canada from the US on the 31st. UK got it in under 4 days....Canada is still waiting. This has almost become like a game.

It's like mail roulette - a camera lens I sent to Chicago two weeks ago priority just got there today, but a watch to Connecticut was there in two days. And those are both w/in CONUS! 🤨

For some reason my Chinese (ebay) stuff is getting here in a a hurry. Now everything thing else domestic is getting here super fast, a day early or on schedule date. One thing I noticed anything international, seems to arrive but the updates don’t catch up for days, up to a week behind. Tomorrow 4 scheduled for delivery exciting

Yes, a lot of people here in Australian small towns complain about the strength of online shopping, though they forget about the amount of money that comes into a community via online sales. My little business would have had a much harder time these past months if it was not for online sales. In Australia, domestically it seems to depend where you are sending items. Victoria is slow, where there is a lockdown at present, but otherwise, I have had no complaints and I post Australia wide, about 15 - 20 parcels per week with Australia Post, the equivelent of USPS. On the other hand, I bought a strap/deployant inter state of Tuesday evening, it arrived Friday morning. I also have a couple of packages sitting in customs, where they have been for a week. Overall, I have no complaints.

I’ve been waiting 18 days for a watch to travel from New York City to Seattle via USPS. The seller says be patient. With a shipping charge of $15, I’d have thought it might have arrived within a few days.
UPDATE:
After five weeks in the first class mail system it just showed up.

Been waiting since Sunday for a small 1st Class box from LA area to South Florida. Still “delayed” as per USPS tracking.

I am really wondering if "delayed" is a euphemism for "we have no bloody idea where it is".

I've been waiting for exactly one month and one day for a package from Washington State to Chicago. Here's a screen shot from two days ago, 9.9.20:

Poof. Gone. Until whenever, anyhow.
