I recently sent a watch to Chris in the UK via USPS, it took a month to go from Oklahoma to Great Britain.

I ordered from CNS on 19 May, shipped 25 May. I have yet to receive it. I didn’t realize that it would ship from Europe at the time AND that I would have to pay extra for shipping until after I paid.

I did order a single NATO off of Etsy and shipped from the U.K. tracking shows that it spent 7 days in Queens before arriving local to me today. It still needs to head to my local annex before ending up on the truck....so, maybe Tuesday.

I do find it funny that my other two hobbies; classic muscle cars and firearms are essentially unbothered by both the Rona and protests. Vendors for both ship out at warp speed as does the Amazon Machine.

Some ridiculous delays from US to UK via USPS express. Watch posted mid March arrived mid May. Currently waiting for some balance staffs posted a month ago... France to UK by Colissimo was pretty bad as well early on (a month and a half waiting for a watch) due to local post Offices not processing items.

3-6 weeks seem to be the new normal when shipping with the national postal companies.

DHL express did however deliver within 2 days from Sweden to Denver 😀

That’s quick - package inbound today from DHL express - two weeks Germany to US. Not too bad all things considered.

Still holding at a month from UK- still hasn’t left Heathrow yet. It seems incredibly random.

Yah with @STANDYs suggestion I’m inclined to think it all depends if you’re first in the crate - or one of the last to go in.

Either way I think it’s helpful to get a feel for the current situation.

USPS gave me a four day window on a priority letter so seems relatively on point with domestic mail

I've got a couple of small pieces coming in from China. Ordered 6/19, cleared US customs (at presumably JFK) 6/25, and are now bouncing around New England. I'm south of DC. Go figure.

This reminds me of when I let my agency travel dept book a flight for me (the first and last time I didn’t do my own travel), and they booked the return from Sacramento to Phoenix, connect to JFK, then to ATL, then BWI (I could have waved to my house on the way from NY to Atlanta) ...and of course I got hung up with an in-air delay and late night cancellation at JFK and had to spend the night at the airport Ramada Inn (I could have driven home from JFK in 2.5hrs)...at least they put me on a 6am direct to BWI and gave me a meal voucher for the shriveled picked over midnight buffet at the Ramada....I ate the bags of peanuts for dinner that the kind stewardess gave me on the delayed flight.

I’ve mailed packages from Arlington, VA to DC that have gone made a trip to North Carolina en route to their destination a couple miles from where they were picked up. There are some serious inefficiencies built into their efficiencies.

oof. I've only had connections like that when I was trying to fly home the same time as a storm system was crossing most of the mid west. PHX -> DFW -> CHI -> ATL -> CLE -> BAL in 24 hours. I felt like I was in a pinball machine.

I guess I'm just lucky. Watch mailed from near London with Royal Mail on June 24, arrived in NYC June 29, delivered to my home in Brooklyn July 1. And no customs bill!

I had a project in Hot Springs, SD during November (I know, I was pissed) flew to Denver and then puddle jumper to Rapid City- then drove to HS. My gear was going Fed-Ex 2nd day and should have arrived the same day as me but I flew in just ahead of a massive storm front and Denver got a couple feet of snow right after I flew to SD. I sat in my hotel for 4 days with clear skies in Hot Springs, my gear sat in an igloo in Denver.... the office couldn’t understand why I wasn’t out working.

Well, in all fairness, FedEx has bigger fish to fry right now. Read this morning that they want the Washington Redskins to rename the team because the team plays at FedEx stadium and Fred Smith (FedEx founder) is a minority owner of the team. FedEx can't be worrying about your work clothes getting to you in Hot Springs, SD with this kind of weighty issue on their plate.
