Crown with stem remnants...

So I purchased the pictured A1 crown, and in my haste, failed to read the fine print where is was mentioned that there’s a bit of stem left behind. Any suggestions on how to remove it, without also killing the gasket, would be most appreciated.

As long as that bit of stem is steel alum should disolve it (thanks Archer). If its stainless, its not going to dissolve.
