Just trying to get some thoughts here. Since we don't know what they may come up with for something new, I'm thinking about one of these three, Apollo 8, Blue side of the Moon ceramic, or a new 321. Or just wait for whatever comes next? I just don't want to go (too far) down the vintage rabbit hole.::stirthepot::

Apollo-Souyez is my infatuation so far. So only a LITTLE vintage 馃榿

Of the 3 you stated, the 321 is the one that appeals to me the most, but it is so NOT different from a normal speedy I have an impossible time justifying it.

Of the other two, the Apollo 8 is the coolest.

What about the new Meteorite moonphases? They are pretty stunning and unique enough from other speedmasters (if that is your jam).

That's my main problem with the 321, as you know I have four 3861s. I like the speedyorite but it's more than I want to spend. But I want a Moonphase and like the Apollo 8 (with the rocket) also but it may be too niche to justify.

I don't know which 4 you had, but I assumed you had plenty 馃榿 But yeah, IF I had the 321 AND my hesalite 1861, I have no reason to reach for 1 or the other, they are too similar.

Apollo 8 is quite unique IMO, and 'different' enough from the others, though of course, doesn't have a moonphase 馃榿 So I guess the decision is made!

I have/had all three of these Speedmasters.

I never gelled with the Blue Side of the Moon.....too thick (17.0 mm) and it didn't sit well on my 7 1/2" wrist, and the blue ceramic takes on a chalky, plasticky blue color in the bright light. Overall, just too bulky. I don't think you will like it. I bought it BNIB at a steep discount in 2019, still lost money when I sold it in 2022 to help fund the 321.

Apollo 8, the first version. Same case size as the BSOTM, but thinner at 13 mm. Sits much better on the wrist, easy to wind. But it's a fancy watch for everyday use, I don't wear it as much as I should, it just gets overlooked. But a super looking watch.

Ed White 321, far and away the best Speedmaster Omega has produced since the original 321 was discontinued almost 60 years ago. Hits all the right notes, it is NOT a duplicate of any 3861 that you have, including the FOIS. It stands on its own. If you feel the FOIS is too close to the 321, sell it and move up to the 321. You won't regret it.

ED WHITE 321 FTW ALL DAY, EVERDAY.

Seems like it鈥檚 been a quiet year for Speedmasters, so far, unlike last year.
