Constellation vs piepan sizing question

Hello everyone, I was about to pull the trigger on a 168.017 but I realized that it wears on the larger side. I had a Planet Ocean 39.5 with almost 45 lug to lug that I sold because it was just too large on my wrist of 6.5 -6.75. Would the 168.017 be a good option for those skinny dudes?😀

It’s a much smaller watch than the Planet Ocean 39.5mm, much thinner too. The C-Case either works really well or not very well at all on people’s wrists depending on whether their wrist is flat on top or more rounded / lumpy.

The topside of my wrist is very rounded with a bone protrusion and that makes the watch sit quite far off the wrist and look bad on me despite having huge 8”+ wrists, while my Mrs has tiny wrists under 6” and the watch just sits right on hers. Its the fact that the case-back sits slightly proud of the case, coupled with the lugs not tapering around that does it, but if you’ve got that flatter wrist it should look very good on you.

You can sort of see what I mean here with this Connie Deluxe, it looks like it’s floating a half inch above my wrist because of that bone structure, the C-case is like that only more so.

Thanks @dsio, first of all I think the Connie looks really fine on your wrist, Ive taken another pic of the top of mine, I don't think the bone is protruding that much, but given that, would you say I better off go with the pie pan instead of the c shape even though I like the latter more as it much suits daily driving..

That looks very flat, should be perfect for a C-Case mate 👍

How’d you get to 6.5 to 6.75 inch, when that shows 6.25?

Thanks, my understanding is that measure tape, starts right after the metal piece.

I can’t see the start of the tape but that seems unlikely

when you say pie-pan @Yayatar16, I'm going to take a guess and assume that you mean a dogleg case?

I don't have a C-case because they're not my cup of tea but there are other Constellations, like the lyre lugs and also the hidden crown cases.
The hidden crown constellations are a tiny bit larger, at 35mm, than their 34.5mm cousins but all of them look absolutely fine on a slim wrist.
(and they all come in both pie-pan and dome dial versions)

Thanks much for your input, please share some ref numbers for the ones you are referring to, the c cases I am currently looking at are posted here, please feel free to share some insights. https://omegaforums.net/threads/help-decide-on-168-017-silver-vs-gold.184086/post-2489494

For a later (and affordable) lyre lug you could try 14381 (no date) or 14393 (date)
The hidden crown constellation references are 168.004 and 168.010 - both have dates the latter has 19mm lug spacing
There is also the later 168.016 (day/date) and 168.018 (date only) - these have 19mm lug spacing and flat dials like the C-cases and offer the best value

My wrist is approx 175mm (about 6 3/4 inches)

168.005 dome dial dogleg

168.010 pie pan

That piepan looks amazing, thank you again for the context
