Seeing all these Constellations make me wish I had more of them 🙁
Can I help you with having fewer?

I got my 68 Constellation as my first true "vintage luxury watch" after collecting vostoks for so long. It was affordable, and the design was on spot on. Total keeper!

The Constellation I feel is one of the best values in vintage watches today.
Especially with the pie-pan dial.

Now I'm feeling guilty about putting my No Name Globemaster up for sale:

Are you sure that's a 2648? Deluxe dial and raised 'Omega'?

@cristos71
Thank you for the question.
Yes, it is a 2648. If I remember correctly, the movement is a cal.354. Sorry, I do not have the inside caseback or movement pictures. But, I do have the photo of the back, which shows a typical snap back for 2648. Two more pictures below. Hope you like it. Cheers,

AFAIK there were no 2648 pie-pans and your dial is from a Deluxe or Grand Luxe. I wouldn't expect to see an applied 'Omega' on the earliest 2648 reference either, these always have an applied symbol and printed 'Omega'

Well. I bought these two over the last 6-7 months. You just have to look harder and of course, pay an arm and leg for them.
Beautiful... dibs if you ever decide to sell one...

Thank you for your valuable comments.
You are right when referrng to mist the examples of ref. 2648, such as the following Connie and non-constellation Connie (or Globlemaster), with appled symbol and printed "OMEGA".
But, the subject Connie with applied symbol and "OMEGA", the dial cannot be wrong cuz the size is right for 2648. It cannot come from a Deluxe or Grand Luxe simply because the size would be smaller. Please refer to the high resolution pic of my 2648, you will find the crystal is without tension ring and the dial fits perfectly at the rim of the case. The watch was bought back to 8 or 9 years ago and is now kept at the bank. If I remember correctly the dial is 18k. Next week, I will go to the bank to take it out for a throughout check. I shall post further findings then.
Thanks again cristos71. Hope you enjoy the other two 2648 below.
Cheers,

Interesting observations and I appreciate your points regarding the larger size of a 2648 dial and the fit of yours within the case.

I also notice that yours has the single crossed 't' 's in Constellation which is not something I have seen before on this reference ( apart from on the French cased version of the 2648 )

I also have a few 2648's and as you say the dials are quite significantly larger and the location of your star also looks a la 2648 ( more space between the six o clock marker and the star ) so I'm really curious as to the story behind this one!

A couple more 2648's to keep this thread on track 😀
