I'm a Brit and I have a problem with repainted dials.

Acknowledging it yourself is the first step!

You might have started something here - ‘Omega Forums Anonymous’!

“my names David, this is my first meeting and I have a problem with over polished cases and sellers using the term New Old Stock where it doesn’t apply”.

Hello, David!

Apparently you folks all live in a perfect world with perfect watches in which case I suggest you switch to other brands fetching much higher prices but definitely not Omegas which had their manufacturing weakness like cases suffering from oxydation from the inside, this confirmed by a retired Omega factory watchman who recalls of host of cases returning for case swaps. But of course living in a democracy, I leave you with your whims and fantasies of absolutely perfect Omega and scorn and detestation for not perfect ones

If we live in a perfect world with perfect watches already, why would we need to switch to another brand?

You seem to be taking it personally as an insult. Members here are just telling you that your dial is not original and the case has issues. An estimated value was given and advice to sell on ebay for the most likely success. Your target market is not Omega fans that value pristine original pieces above all others.
No insult intended.
Good luck with your sale.
Also search some of Christos71s posts and you will see quite a few whims and fantasies among his personal collection.
My own whims that I happen to be wearing today...

I got the picture of the forum where I am a freshman totally wrong. I had no idea that only "pristine" watches were legit for you guys, the rest good more or less for the trash can. For me - this comes with the fact I am an antique collector - what can be enshrined with care and attention from the past instead of put aside/shelved has its merits and a redial, even not perfect, is this sort of rescue operation I value.

Holy moly, this means Omegas worth is close to nothing. Sad. The Brits have no pb whatsoever with repainted dials. Actually most of the very old ones are repaints, wherever you look, ebay or internet shops
You Sir are full of nonsense and trying to peddle something undesirable at a silly price against forum rules. Be on your way.

If you’re an antique collector you know very well that a table that’s had the original finish removed, stripped back to bare wood, re-polished and a new top, is worth significantly less than a fully original one and collectors are looking for originals, be that antiques or watches.

Well that went badly. Locking the thread and removing this dude since he clearly needs medication.
