I know that blue dials are normally redials but what about mine ? It shows an aging dot left of "Chronometre" visible when using the numerical loupe effect. Thanks for any help. It is 20 years I own it.
Well if it is a bumper movement I'd generally expect printed 'Omega' and double crossed t's.
It looks like it's missing the dot from the i in Constellation and the Swiss Made is too high. This too would also be the first blue dial I've ever seen.
Other issues,
Crosshairs cover "l"
Crosshair should extend to dial edge
Lume hands but not dial
Uneven minute markers
Minute markers too close to centre
I was referring to the case alone. 3k might be realistic for a nice 18k bumper Connie as a full watch, yes.
A gold-capped watch like yours would be very roughly half that.
With the heavily polished case and the incorrect crown it’s less than that.
And then there’s the dial.
You’ll struggle to find an interested party here, but I could see how someone who’s not as nerdy as us folks might find it attractive at a slightly lower price than the other examples out there.
Holy moly, this means Omegas worth is close to nothing. Sad. The Brits have no pb whatsoever with repainted dials. Actually most of the very old ones are repaints, wherever you look, ebay or internet shops
As a Brit, I can say this is nonsense and redials are a problem, certainly for collectors.
However, many ‘non-collectors’ who just want a nice vintage watch are unaware of the differences between original and repainted dials. This applies to all countries.

You wot, m8? I'm sorry but I don't think you are looking at the right auctions then. Omegas are worth plenty to many of the collectors here, just when they are more original and not fantasy do-overs. Sure, there is the odd redial here and there that was done professionally, maybe even many years ago, but I'd imagine they are done sympathetically or by Omega themselves.
Granted, poorly done examples show up all the time, but most people I know would balk at the majorly overlooked "minutia" like the ones that have been detailed above.

I'm a Brit and I have a problem with repainted dials.
