Photos and videos or it didn’t happen!,!,!

@ngo516
ngo we have been on Modern Marvels, Mysteries at the Museum, CNN, FoxNews, Movies, we have even had bands name albums about us and write songs about us I could go on and on LOL

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum; known from coast to coast, like butter and toast. From headlines to bedlines, from school rooms to pool rooms, this place is like no other that can be found in the contiguous United States and other environs of the free world.

We have been visited by; David Copperfield, Penn & Teller, Tony Hawk, Jack White (white stripes), Robert Shapiro even hosted a surprised Bday party for Eminem just to list a few.

Here is a link to our YouTube channel filled with videos from TV, Customers etc.

Really cool stuff. Must have cost a fortune to maintain these guys.

I'm sure if I sold all my figures I could buy a new watch or two but, even though they are little bits of plastic... the're Star Wars, the first film I saw at the cinema.

At first I thought those were all graded pieces! I sold all mine long ago when the prices peaked just before the new films came out. Had a full Indiana Jones Kenner collection too, even the rare stuff, but sold it two winters ago when the prices really jumped on those and I'm not sure why. Cashed out at the right time, but I will say if you aren't 100% sure and committed then keep them until you are, you can't get them back.

Yours all look in great shape, did you accumulate these over time or were they yours as a kid?

Graded, no way! I like to be able to handle them, that would be like buying a new watch and never taking it out of its coffin 😁

A few are from my childhood, I used my pocket money on a Sat morning, my mum took the guns etc. off me as I would often loose them in the garden hence most being complete.

I finished off the collection of figures and missing bits 'n bobs via fleebay, car boots and such in the 90s/00s and stored them away. Still have a massive trunk full of the ships etc. which I often think I should sell as I'd need some serious space to display them.

The aim is to display the figures in the kids entertainments room which my lad is desperate for me to finish off as he's grown up on the modern SW, and now Marvel franchises.

See I had that problem also, it’s way easier to sell all your toys and just have one watch or two. Prices peak, drop, fluctuate, Star Wars is not the same as it was now, you never know, sell them now, make some extra profit and get a new watch! Haha

Maintaining figures is costly as maintaining a watch, Japanese action figures is harder in my opinion since I have to import everything from japan or Hong Kong hahahaha

I'm the same, no need to spend more money to make something inaccessible! I want to play with mine.

My uncle did the most horrific thing I could imagine as a kid to his son's SW figures he super glued the guns into the hands so the kid wouldn't lose them. What happens when you need to disarm a Stormtrooper to put him in the Trash Compactor?

Have you considered suspending them from the ceiling? Have seen some displays done that way, and if you loop fishing line so the ships are cradled rather than actually attached you can pull them down to have a look or dust them off easily.

Nah, can't sell figures @eldiano84, too many memories although tempting to add another watch to the collection 😁

They may not be at their peak but like OF, there are a few forums out there for the collectors still trading and are still worth a new Speedy at least 😗 I've already decided to sell my cars this year to buy some more watches, I figure that in itself will actually work out cheaper and easier to store.

Have seen some ceiling displays on-line also @OmegaP99, would possibly work for some but I'd be concerned over time on the degradation of the plastic from ceiling lights plus risks with dusting and kids being kids 🤦

When I had a smaller apartment I would display one of two larger pieces along with the smaller ones, keeping the others in storage, and rotate them out like how museums do. This actually caused me to appreciate them more since I saw them much less often.

You will have to post some pics of your collection (if you still have it) when time allows 👍

Most have long gone, SW went before Phantom Menace was released, Indy went two years ago. I have random things now, I tend to "collect" less and buy individual pieces and usually much older. Have gotten into some old diecast fro Dinky, Corgi & Marklin, some old Buck Rogers Tootsie Toy, stuff that predates my childhood but fits my interest in antiques. I think it suits me a bit better these days, more from a psychological aspect, since I no longer feel a need to be a completionist. I do also sometimes pick up toys I wanted but never got to buy as a kid, like a Cylon Raider w figure. Also had a house move so much of that is still in boxes. I'll have to have a look and see what's convenient to pull out for you.

@Capt Cave Man I forgot I posted these to another forum a couple of months back. Boba Fett was built up from two different figures to get all the accessories. Godzilla was gifted by a friend who had it since he was a child. I need to remember to post the Godzilla on one of those "Is this too big for my wrist?" threads.

Always would've loved to find a Kenner Boba Fett still sealed in box. I know there's a ton on eBay, but I guess I just haven't looked that hard nor wanted to spend the money. Still a sweet collection you have, @Capt Cave Man. I'm not really into figures now, but I do have one I picked up about 2 years ago to celebrate the release of a certain watch:
