I am considering a purchase of the following watch and could use some advice as my knowledge of vintage Omega's is poor to none. I would greatly appreciate any input.

I have only recently been looking at vintage Omega's and my reason for looking at this particular watch was the year is special to me and I like the style of the watch. I have seen watches of that year in better condition but are out of my current price range. I actually like the patina on the dial but should the oxidisation on the dial be a concern?

My main concerns are, am I over-paying for the watch by a huge amount and are there any obvious alarms bells that would make this a bad purchase.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

The watch details are as follows:

Price is $750
Omega 2639-13
Year 1952
Case size 36mm
Last service 2020

The watch is in rather poor cosmetic condition from a collector's perspective, but if it's appealing to you that is more important. It is always difficult to find a good watch at a fair price if you are strictly limiting yourself to a particular year. If you were to sell it, you would probably lose a few hundred $, but if you like the watch and you expect to hold onto it for an extended period, perhaps that doesn't matter too much. My bigger concern would be that as you become more accustomed to looking at vintage watches, you will begin find the watch unappealing.

Just adding to the good advice you’ve already had; even if you get used to a watch on your wrist, posting photos can highlight defects that you might otherwise live with.
My particular bugbear can be decaying or damaged hands.

if you really like the watch then you should go for it.
you are going to loose money but i does not matter if you are going to keep it for a long time

Thanks all for the considered advice.

Think I will exercise some patience and wait for something better.
