Considering a Mitsukoshi conversion

I can wholeheartedly recommend the conversion and think the silver hands are pretty integral to the look. Modding your watch isn't to everyone's taste, but who cares - unless you are a collector or investor, ultimately it's just a piece of wrist jewellery and you will be the one wearing it!

The ST is taking up my watch fund for this year, but with that on the way I know I've just got to get myself a Mitsukoshi as its perfect counterpart.

Oh, and and a 3572.50.

And a FOIS

And a... STOP ME!!!!

I bought a new Speedy last year and had it modded with the 35th Anniversary dial and silver hand set. I did this because I love the look of this dial and yet want to wear it regularly without any fear of damaging a valuable LE.

The silver hands are almost invisible at some angles, but it's not hard to rotate your wrist slightly and then the shimmer of the dial and hands looks sharp.

Flat out stunning. You've sealed the deal on the silver hands for me. Thanks for sharing these!

How do you guys service your modded Mitsukoshi? I'm afraid of sending it to an independent watchmaker for fear that he will break the hands upon removal, and then I'll have to source for new hands, which is pretty hard now.

My watchmaker said he should be able to remove them with no issue. He is omega certified.

Sam at afram jewelers in DC. One of the FAD uses Sam to service is personal collection.

I haven't used him yet for my conversion but I have the dial and hands ready, just looking for my speedy to swap it with now
