Concerns on the font of this 1994 DJ...help appreciated

I am considering buying this (photo attached, not mine ) and am concerned about the font, particularly the "J" and the "A". Have not seen this font on all others I've looked at from the 1980s/90s. I would be grateful if anyone with knowledge can steer me in the right direction.

Thank you.

I have uploaded a picture of my 1989 Date-Just for the sake of comparison with the font of the subject watch. I think you might use the word "different". Re-finished?

Looks like a refinished dial to me, would have to get the text under a loupe to tell for sure. I would proceed with caution on that one OP. Those are not a difficult to find so you should have no problem finding one perfect in every way.

Redial indeed. You're right about the A, among other things. Here's a 1993 I just bought, one year from the watch you're considering. Not even close.

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, this was given to me by my father some years ago but I don't wear it that often because I don't like the jubilee bracelet and I can't find a strap I really like on it either. It just always looks a bit.... old man.
I just wanted to know if the dial checks out really. Any help please? Also if anyone can suggest any strap options that would be great too. 63e554f390c885552ef825e7b82f5975.jpg

Um, enlarge that picture and take a good look at the inking.

Black dial, slightly sloppy white lettering. What does that say to everyone?

Can you explain...you are referring to the 16030 I've bought or the one I swerved? You have me worried....I would repeat Steiner in Maastricht is reputable and Philipp Stahl has a connection there.

To me, and this is under very close examination and compared to my own, the inking on the black dial has a slightly fluffy look to it as opposed to mine seems sharper and slimmer

Congrats on your recent acquisition, black dialed Datejust..
I don't see anything wrong with the dial..

Just an update...I took the 16303 into Rolex and they are very comfortable with the font, the dial and the watch generally. Only additional point is they date it 1987, despite papers saying sale date of 1988 (perhaps reflecting when the AD aquired the watch and when they actually sold it). I am relieved and wanted to thank participants for their helpful comments and interest.
