Ok, the non-diver versions have an awkward 17mm lug width (definitely not 18mm), what is the lug width of the Diver version? I'm trying to see if a Diver's 1168 bracelet would work with the 166.038 non-diver.
Please help!

i found them too small for bigger wrists. it is nothing special in my opinion. it is part of the Geneve collection with an anchor painted on the dial..... exept for the turning bezel version, i guess..... kind regards. achim
For me, personally...I first took notice when the black non-diver reminded me of a certain very expensive vintage Rolex with similar hands and splashes of orange and black...the 1655 Explorer II. If these Admiralties were say 37-40mm they would extremely desirable in my opinion.

Hi DIV
I have also been very into this geneve admiralty, especially the black dialed no bezel one recently. Based what I learned, the best example I can find on Ebay now is this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-AUTO...REF-166-038-CAL-565-ACCIAIO-RARO/401676100422

But there seems to be something broken above the 12 o'clock marker? As a completely newbie, may I ask what that is and how difficult it is to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I believe that is an incorrect tension ring. I think the Omega crystal and ring are still available.

The crown may not be correct either and THAT would be an issue. They are hard to source. I think that example is over priced.

Thank you! I searched on Otto Frei and found the crystal and tension ring for this model. 馃榿

About the price, what would a more appropriate price range for this?

Hi Ozawa
Yes, I looked at that one too. It's in Italy. The mark above the 12 is either a reflection or yeah, possible a gap in the tension ring of the crystal indicating that it's possible the wrong size.
As @ahsposo pointed out, the crown is a replacement...these are sometimes hard to find. Although that one might be the closest replacement...it looks like it almost fills in the space between the crown guards.
See page 2 and page 6 of this thread for more info on the crowns.

Well, if sometime you find a replacement crown let me know...

That does not look a good watch as it has some issues already pointed out and the movement looks poor.

After getting the proper bracelet, I wore mine a lot in 2017 but now I hardly wear it and will probably sell it this year but I'd need to service it first and am very busy. It's a manual, no date and there is a picture here. If it's of interest, let me know and I'll point it out to you if I get around to listing it.

Cheers, Chris

Hi there,
I've recently purchased an admiralty but I've never seen a dial or hands like this one.
Any ideas?

That's interesting; never seen that either...it might be a re-dial.

I just picked up my black dial date version. I've seen photos but never owned any of the less common short-lugged versions. If it wasn't for the fact that the lug holes were drilled closer to the case, I would just assume that the lugs were just trimmed down from a regular long-lug version...

Thanks for the quick reply!
If you look closely down at 6 and the date window you can just see the orange strips underneath the hour markers.
Also I was hoping to replace the hands with original if they weren't.
Any ideas where to get some? I have found a set on ebay but not sure they will fit.

The short lug versions definitely look better with a strap than the long ones.
One reason why I liked the nato on it, hides the big gap
