    Hello Chris
Thank you for your reply. I still proceeded on that watch after I found the right crystal and crown on Ebay. Like you said, the movement of the watch looks to be in poor condition, I probably need to have it serviced as soon as I get it. Cheers!

Ok, you will need the black-tipped version, not the white for your white dial.
Needs to look similar to this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-c-...h=item1cc5f4e73e:g:KAYAAOSwnLtcML0z:rk:1:pf:0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

Sorry to say, I don't think that dial ever was an Admiralty dial. The markers (style and layout) are not ones I've seen on an Admiralty nor are the hands. Regardless of it's origins it's been refinished to it's present state.

It all seems legit even to the point of the orange markers still being present at the hour marks bit I agree, the markers and hands are not original. IMG_20190108_200930.jpg

Do you think it's just a refinished dial? Or something more sinister like a fake?

Not a fake but it's not an Admiralty dial either, just a random Omega dial refinished to kind of look like an an Admiralty dial.

Haygarth-I suggest you leave it as is and just enjoy it as a daily wearer. It looks like an authentic Admiralty case, back and movement from what I can tell from your photo. The dial, hands and winding crown have been replaced. Someone put a lot of time and effort in restoring your Admiralty and it's cool to imagine the stories it could tell. If you end up getting hard core obscessed about this particular model (like I did a year ago when I started this thread), you can pick up a more "collectible" example with the specs you feel are most desirable (short lugs, hands and dial combo you prefer etc.) in time by watching the used market (eBay, forums etc.). It took me exactly one year to learn about them and accidentally find my favorite all around example so it's not exactly an unobtainable grail watch if you know what I mean....just my ten cents....

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it. I'll take your advice DIV although going to keep Oris 65 as daily driver.
This one seems almost dressy but absolutely loving it none the less.
Eyes out for a black dial which is the one I really like.
Also if anyone is interested in a brand new old stock strap for a short lug, was goi g to but it for mine till he gave me dimensions from end link tip to pin

Hmmm...I might consider it for my short-lug....thanks!

There are multiple long-lug versions of the FixoFlex band on U.K. eBay now for some strange reason.

By the way, Haygarth (or anyone else interested), here's a decent white-dial version on eBay from a seller that I've purchased from last year.

Its a later one (1970) with no anchor on the dial. It also looks like it has the "replaced, but most correct" winding crown. If you look closely, the original crown has finer and more numerous notches. Also, I think the original crown is a bit shallower.

Be careful with those bracelets - you need 563 end links for the long lug Admiralty. Most are with 558 ends and they are for a different watch. I have a thread here somewhere showing the difference.

    Cheers, Chris

Is the 558 the correct 17mm endlink for the short-lugged Admiralty?

The listing clearly says these are for "CAL 1010,1012,1020,1022". The caliber 5xx family and caliber 10xx series are unrelated.

I appreciate that but I've found different calibers to be interchangeable.
Do you know if they can be modified for example, smaller holes can be enlarged
