··Color Commentator for the Hyperbole.I switched to a Krups electric blade grinder when the upper arm work-out became a bit much that early in the AM- but I never got a consistent grind- the hand burr grinder was always perfect and adjustable for any grind I wanted.
I guess I could allocate time in the morning to doing it “right” again, but when your morning is scripted to the minute to catch a commuter train, having it ready made when you walk into the kitchen is a godsend.
When I was in college, my roommate was Peruvian. She introduced me to using sweetened condensed milk in the coffee...that was delicious with the right bean/roast.

··Wow! Custom title... coolA little under a year ago I decided to ditch the Nespresso for some real espresso and bought a Rancilio Silvia. I haven’t looked back since. Brilliant machine. I usually drink cortado or flat white but sometimes just a double espresso.
Currently on an espresso blend from my local coffee shop called Ruby Espresso with organic beans from Rwanda. Great stuff

·Rancilio Silvia is a great machine if you don’t need milk so often. Single bioler has some limits regarding stream/hot water switching. I would also recommend upgrade it with PID.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend Silvia to anyone who wants a simple, no nonsense machine. Thought about the PID upgrade but am currently doing fine without. I agree that the ordinary Silvia isn’t the optimal option, if you need a lot of steamed milk. I thought about buying the new Rancilio double boiler but it was almost twice as expensive. So if we have visitors who wants a cortado, it just takes a bit longer, which is fine.

Have a model or two prior, 10 years going strong. Love my Silvia.
I haven't bothered about the PID.
The trick with milk is to do all the milk in a bigger SS jug as the switch is the killer if you use a small SS milk jug. (Have a big jug for when guests come)

·Quite traditional in the morning, I.I. Alessi 9090 moka coffee, and a quick shot in the afternoon with a “Lavazza a modo mio” in my office.
Personally use Illy or Kimbo coffee in the morning, Caffe’ Borbone pods in the afternoon.

I have used and using multiple different machines...
My favorite :
Jura Capresso 121 Ultima Espresso Machine , sad part is this machine is not made any longer.. ... its a semi automatic Espresso , I modified the spout to accommodate a standard size mug... and I just pull a long coffee... and I used a large size burr grinder.. ....
My wife's favorite is a Jura automatic ....
And my other automatic pour overs etc... .
