Hi everyone.....

We are a coffee house ! Been drinking Death Wish Coffee... and Kicking Horse Coffee, Kick Ass, Dark Roast, Whole Bean, Certified Organic, Fairtrade ....

I have used and using multiple different machines...

My favorite :
Jura Capresso 121 Ultima Espresso Machine , sad part is this machine is not made any longer.. ... its a semi automatic Espresso , I modified the spout to accommodate a standard size mug... and I just pull a long coffee... and I used a large size burr grinder.. ....

My wife's favorite is a Jura automatic ....

And my other automatic pour overs etc... .

Good Drinking....

Bill
Nice set up👍, death wish coffee, now that sounds interesting... 🤪

I did this every morning for two decades

Wow! A Zassenhaus knee grinder. I thought I was the only person who owned one.

It was usurped by a Rancilo a few years ago, but still sees duty on camping trips.

Have a model or two prior, 10 years going strong. Love my Silvia.
I haven't bothered about the PID.

The trick with milk is to do all the milk in a bigger SS jug as the switch is the killer if you use a small SS milk jug. (Have a big jug for when guests come)

True! We have a jug large enough for 2 medium or 3 smaller lattes and that works well 😀 Speaking of... I think I’ll make coffee now

I keep it simple. I pretty much only drink cold brew now. Too hot in Florida for hot coffee all the time.
This thing is pretty easy. Coffee grounds. Water. Set over night. Profit.

if I have the time I’ll grind the beans myself. If I’m lazy I will just get the pre done.

Lol once you find out what you like it can be pretty good.
I definitely did not like it at first. But over time it grew on me while I tried different things.
Like I said, now it's pretty much all I drink. Unless it is actually cold out.
And in that case all we have for that is a grind and brew machine or the Nespresso...

I’m a tea obsessive, but coffee lover always.

Was fortunate to work with Blue Bottle on a project years ago and their methods convinced me to buy a MiniMazzer that has worked beautifully for me for pour over and Bialetti.

Happy caffeinations to all.

Here’s my set up. Two cups a morning of straight filter coffee then I’m into peppermint tea for the rest of the day. THere's an expensive espresso machine somewhere in the house but it hardly gets used.

I also drink peppermint tea during the day, I have it cold, really refreshing, the good thing for me about the espresso machine is it slows me down, so I drink less than I used to.

It never gets really hot here, but I can see how it would work, some research for me I think::stirthepot::

Mostly I drink cafe bustelo which is a preground expresso type. I'll make it in a drip, percolator, press, or in a sock. Folgers is fine with me too.

just no french vanilla, sandalwood, patcchuli, hazel nut or fruit punch flavoring.

no milk, no sugar

I have an Aeropress with an Aergrind combo. Also have a coffee subscription to the Barn (single origin filter). I sometimes also use a Hario V60. I prefer coffees from Africa and Brazil rather than Central America, although the Geisha coffees are really exceptional.

My parents both drank freeze dried instant coffee back in the 1970s, and having tasted that, I was turned off to coffee until I tried real espresso as an adult. Started with a little $200 Saeco Poemia espresso machine to save on the trips to Starbucks. When it bit the dust after 4 years, I decided to move up to the advanced beginner level, and just got this Solis Perfetta and a burr grinder. A little more work, but the taste has been worth it.

I'd love to go down the rabbit hole of an espresso machine... I start with good intentions to do something affordable like a Gaggia classic or even a Rancilio Sylvia...then I think for a little more I could get this or that feature... then... I could have a double boiler, and the next thing you know I'm looking at thousands... (Mini Vivaldi with custom wood panel sides)

Realistically if I go for a machine, I might try to do a lever, those copper Elektras would look very nice on the counter.

Right now I take my pour-over seriously. I grind beans in a conical burrr grinder every morning and use a Chemex. Everything gets weighed for consistency. Makes a great cup of coffee.

One of my hobbies is rebuilding vintage Olympia espresso machines--Cremina, Maximatic, Coffex. These things were built like tanks, and will run forever with some new gaskets and the occasional pump/solenoid/pressurestat. I recently scored the find of a lifetime: a new-old-stock Pasquini Livietta from 1984. Original box, styrofoam, instructions, coffee scoop, etc. The Liviettas were rebranded Maximatics, so all the parts are interchangeable--but no parts were needed on this machine. I rinsed out the boiler, started it up, and made a very nice latte. There will be many more...
