Where’s Charles Bronson when you need him? 😁

The best thing for anyone to do is stay vigilante. If the deal seems a little too good to be true, which his strategy largely relies upon, it likely is. If he’s trying to scam PayPal, as he explained in the screenshot above, his strategy hinges on F&F being used, so that is another thing to remember/consider. If in doubt, get others involved. Bottom line, stay vigilant.

He only uses goods and services I think to make him look more legit (you have to get your bank involved if you pay friends and family, PayPal won't refund you) and to feel better about himself that people are getting the money back. I only thought the watches might be stolen so he will not be identified though the serial numbers, although if he buys them second hand is almost impossible to trace them back. Replying to JW, I think he feels we are no victims because we can afford such watches, so good job highlighting how anxious people can get until they have their money back.

Sorry, that was a mistype on my end. My brain and fingers weren’t in unison at that moment. I meant to say Goods & Services as that’s the only option that issues a refund. I don’t suspect it’s to look more legit- He’s trying to screw PayPal over and if he sticks to this, the only way he can accept payment is through Goods & Services. That alone makes him an outlier compared to the other members selling in the private sales section as the vast majority of private sellers stipulate the only forms of payment they accept are: Friends & Family, Wise, or any other form of bank/wire transfer.

When it looks to great because it is at 50% something is wrong but still people thinking making a deal.

Ah now, hold on a second!! The price I paid for Lucien’s 3510.50 (watch only; no service history) was maybe €100 below market value in a soft market. It wasn’t a “too good to be true (naive) deal” and also, I’d add that I wasn’t taking advantage of someone in need of money.

Wow! I bought 2 watches from him: one in September last year and one in march this year.
I asked him to ship with DHL and had no issues... Sorry to hear what happened to other members here.

If you are a new seller and people are wary of your too good to be true pricing, PayPal goods can tip the scale in your favor. Last time if it wasn't for PayPal protection I wouldn't have made a gamble (it was 1200 for a Speedmaster Reduced).

So, how far into his new round do you think our PayPal avenger is on TRF and WUS? Perhaps Reddit and FB marketplace as well?

Strange he scammed with goods and services with so many sales being wire or the many other options that give the seller 100% protection. But yeah not only will words not penetrate this dude to change his ways he’s probably already on some other site waiting to strike. I’m one of those weird ones who think humans are fundamentally good but we have the ability to push that aside and become completely self centered.
These stories and the reports of stolen watch collections really bum me out. This is one of the few places I’ve never had any serious issue buying here. Even a gentleman who doesn’t frequent this forum but jumped back on only to sell a KS went flawlessly. He even shipped the package before I could get the cash to him through his preferred method which was just an app I had to download and figure out.

It’s happens everywhere with anything of value. I don’t think I could burn someone and be happy with the proceeds but damn I see people do some harsh shit to each other let alone reading or watching the news.

I am glad I don’t live in such a manner. Especially now since I’m slowly dying of this horrible possible bed bug attack (more internet doctoring has me leaning towards the even more deadly scabies) but my wife reminded me I cleared a lot with no gloves and told me it’s poison Ivy as the timing matches but what does she know. Shoot she is right I cleared some growth maybe I’ll pull through after all.

Anyway peace and love and don’t rip people off . Some of us have acquired a special skill set and use it to bring watch rippers to Justice.

Sad, hopefully PayPal will refund the people.

And even more so that he's creating such bad rep for his home country. I've met some awesome honest people from Romania.. but I guess there are bad apples everywhere.

So, has anyone heard from PayPal yet? I'm still waiting.
Hi,

PayPal could definitely be clearly on the resolution timelines relating to an open case. Just keep an eye on PayPal / your email and ensure there are no actions for you to address. Best of luck with it!

Always expedite! No reason to ever hesitate.

And never respond to the seller after PayPal gets contacted.

Still waiting for a PayPal refund having opened a claim 20 days ago. Numerous phone calls later and I have to say I’m really disappointed with PayPal communication. Their resolution centre doesn’t give any indication on timelines for a case to be reviewed or decisioned and likewise their agents provide no information - all they say is it’s being handled by a special team!! The only test of a business’ customer service is how they support you when things go wrong - PayPal have a lot to improve upon.

Curious to hear if any refunds have been processed to date.

I too have been told by paypal that i will be refunded
I'm guessing that the fact he issues an invoice means the scammed will get a refund and he runs away with the money
making it in his eyes a victimless crime
what a horrible way to make money
glad im not f#cked but what a world we live in.

good hunting everyone... but be extra careful
