It doesn't look like there is a shortage of normal parking spaces, I can see some vacant, my guess is the driver chose that spot so as not to have others opening their doors against his paintwork......that doesn't make it right however
In fact it is flawed logic, as he is probably more likely to suffer paintwork damage from someone pissed off with the sense of entitlement, keying the side of the car!

OTOH that bluish thing on the top of the dashboard looks rather like a "Blue Badge" which can be issued to suitably qualified disabled drivers and would permit parking here.

Why should driving enjoyment be limited to those without physical disability?

I hate parking in car parks... if needs must, I will seek out a "safe" space..

Seldom see these anymore. Had 2 of these earlier in life….simply a blast! This one looks like a 69-71 vintage.

My older brother had a 1974 tii. I drove it from LA to Pensacola to drop it off to him while he was in OCS. Summer time, no AC, great trip though especially for a seventeen year old.

That is right, a friend of mine drives a wheelchair and a BMW 3 series cupe, and rides a motorcycle.

I remember seeing this for the first time at the dealer - loved the whole series. e39 M5 - such a beauty.

The E39 is definitely one of my favorite BMW's. Especially the wagon. And especially if someone swaps an S62 into it lol.

Just typical of a bloody inconsiderate cyclist, to leave their bloody appalling unworthy contraption to damage the paintwork of a poor innocent defenseless car! ::stirthepot::😁

And this one in Flat NYC. It has been repainted as I recall seeing it in same spot a few years back wearing worn out paint.
