Cheapo Vintage Beauties

Let’s start a thread for Cheapo Vintage Beauties.

These are the uncollectible, unsung beauties of the vintage watch world – local brands, knockoff designs, Ebauches movements and every so often plated cases. CVB-thread guideline: in-house movements are frowned upon and signed crowns are barely accepted 😁

Let’s see your cheapos! 😀
@Nupero as judge and jury we need you in here. Some exhibitors are submitting entries of watches I know the name of!

Your Milionjär (?) still out in front btw. Incredible condition, unknown outside the suburbs of Malmo and 22€. Smashing it out of the park

Yep, some entries have been a little too elegant, but it's all good. Most watches here are CVB eligible so maybe we can tolerate a few fancy-pants timepieces every now and then. I even posted a posh Camy, so who am I to judge? 😁

Thanks for the compliment! Can't wait to get my Milljonär back from service. "Unknown outside the suburbs of Malmo" really sums it up for the brand 😁

Here is an anonymous wristwatch in 14ct yellow gold. I has been well worn, clearly. But now, after a service of the movement, runs again like a charm. Look at these elegant numerals 😀 It still requires a nice open-ended strap for the fixed lugs.

I don't know who made this watch and where, or when. I can make a guess based on style. I also do not recognize the caliber. If anyone knows something about this, please share.

Guilty as charged with my Technos post. Will have to get more obscure going forward.
Totally agree on that Milljonär. Want! 😀

There’s a guy in Adelaide selling a selection of watches as obscure as you wish to find. Allegedly from an estate purchase. I won’t sully the thread with a link but feel free to dm and I’ll reply. Only stumbled across it because he has a Pierce chronograph up for grabs.

HUBER Secura , from 50ies?? hand-wound and (IMO) radium . Huber (now Huber Bucherer) is a store in Munich. Some of them had IWC-movements, this one not.

Cheap mid 60's Lanco, I love this for its simplicity and oh, its accuracy, one of my most accurate watches and I have 3 chronometer rated watches that it easily matches

As a collector of mainly ladies watches I suppose that most of the watches that I love and wear are by their nature "cheapos" - you don't see me complaining! - but this one I am very happy for. It's a Swedish brand "Eweco" made by Synchron, based on a 70's Cyma/Doxa model called "Navystar" - sorry for the dirt in the picture but after a cleanup and some regulating it runs like a champ

I think this Arly Oceanproof makes the cut.
You know that if the follow up question is “what the hell is that!?” that your watch qualifies.

My favorite diver. Got this for a steal of around 8USD - runs like a champ and never lets me down 😀

@Nupero as the OP and arbiter, can we post auctions of some of these unknowns here, or should we start a new thread.
I’d hate someone to miss out on this ‘classic’ lolol

I can add a link if you give it the thumbs up.

This thread and a few others like it, provide context for the current proliferations of micro brands. Always this niche to fill.
