Seller todreamawatch over at RF has some nice pics of the new Black Black and Vintage Black that show off the new clasps. Definitely appear as if the two piece "head" module is ceramic while the two "forks" are titanium. Looks great.

He's a great guy to boot! Bought my GSOTM from him at an awesome price.

Is it possible to attach this clasp to the standard strap?

not the standard DS strap, the tang buckle has a wide rectangular prong, which requires wide, rectangular holes...
The deployant has small circular holes.
Also the buckle side , if attached to the deployant clasp will look funny with its centre cut out (where the tang buckle prong would be), and the loophole/keeper would be standing idle and out of place...

You'd have to get the whole unit

DSOM with clasp is 10.300 euro instead of 9.800 euro. Pics are online: on omega site

Imagine you would get the ceramic clasp for the GSOTM and the Omega logo would be luminous, how awesome that would be 😀

I liked the idea that the Dark side is a watch with no compromises: all ceramic case, pushers, crow and buckle. With this version there are compromises and it no longer is an all ceramic watch. Having said that, i do like the folding 😀.

Downside of the folding clasp is that it looks a bit thick, like if its sticked on

Wow that view tells your story perfectly. It's like a big sore thumb sticking out. I have to wear my tang buckle in the 3rd hole which places it directly in the center of my wrist. Guess I better go try it before ordering when becomes available. I wouldn't like my wrist teeter tottering on the pivot it would create.

The stainless deployant looks just fine on the grey side . Ceramic is not worth the extra $$$ imho.

IMO a big positive for the Omega clasp was its low profile compared to other deploy clasps. Because the top part that shows (ie the wedge with the omega Ω on it) was barely thicker than the strap itself it could rest semi comfortably in numerous positions on the wrist. Also, since the wedge was pretty much flush with the strap the pressure point was spread out over much greater surface area. The ceramic clasps look to be about 2x as thick as the straps, so it not only will stick out but it will hurt more since the pressure point is much more concentrated.
Would have much preferred they went with all dark titanium and kept the design as it was.

Is that photo of a black black or an original DSOM with new clasp

Or is the original DSOM with now-available deployant identical strap/clasp combo to that on the black black?

Picture above is from the original DSOTM. Omega hp shows two versions of DSOTM to choose from.

I went and looked at the new models. The clasp is pretty darn thick. I'd love to get the clasp and black leather for my dsotm but man 1100 total. I really wish I could get a black leather strap and make it work with the current ceramic tang buckle and spend let then 400 or so.

$1000 is insane for a deployant strap.....It's a good thing I'm happy with NATOs for now sheesh. I do love my Grey Side's leather strap though and will wait to see what the deployant on the grey side looks like. Thanks for the good info all.

That price should be for an exotic strap plus the ceramic/titanium clasp so not really all that much more than an exotic plus titanium clasp

I mean look at how much just the ceramic tang buckle cost. Nothing new but bet we will be able to get the clasp/strap combo from grey dealers for $700-800 soon. Or just get a custom strap ($200-500) that is exquisite and then buy the clasp for aprox $600-700 when you're ready. I personally will go this route at some point since I like matching my shoes, belts, and straps but will opt for an original omega black or brown for my GSOTM as well just because the combo will most likely hit the grey market first.
