·Good morning lovely people of Omegaforums,
I am a new member, but have been lurking and learning here for a long time.
My particular weakness is the ornate pieces from the 30ies and 40ies, so the following Centenary certainly looked promising. I did bid on it but didn't pursue in the end because I had some concerns with the Centenary engraving on the caseback, as it looked different from the known good examples discussed in other threads here.
Obviously, for a rose gold specimen, final price (1764 chf) is on the lower end of the scale.
So my question would be what you guys think is going on with the caseback. My money is on overpolished, perhaps to remove a personal inscription on the back, as opposed to re-engraved.
for posterity, movement serial 10'759'736 and case number is 10'785'366.
Thanks for your consideration,
Dries
