The buckle is correct. The rest of the bracelet is not.
CK2998-2 should have the double sprung links and the fixed links should be solid and not folded.

·Another surprise offer from my dealer who found this Speedmaster 2998/2. The initial picture sent to me was poor but i can see a great potential on the watch. The seller wanted a premium so i told my dealer to borrow the watch so we can inspect it before we make a counter offer. After much prodding from my dealer the seller relented.
The watch was brought to me yesterday and after seeing it, i new my hunch was right. The watch is in unmolested original condition. The tropical dial is beautiful with even brown color and it matches well with the patina on the hour markers. The rare ghost base 1000 bezel is also very nice for its age and the case appears to be unpolished. It also has the correct 7077 bracelet with number 6 end links.
Since the watch is in my possession already, i was not going to give it up without a good fight. I came prepared with cash on hand and made an offer which was way below market price. My dealer relayed the offer and also sent a picture of the cash on hand haha. The seller countered which i thought was very reasonable and the deal was closed. Happy to have this Speedy in my collection.

·Just read this post with great appreciation. Beautiful watch in fantastic condition. I recently acquired a 2998-2 and am considering whether to replace the 32-tooth crown with a 24-tooth flat foot or a naiad crown. From what I've read both may have been used with the 2998-2. Do you believe your crown to be original?
