I bought my 2054 with a highly polished bracelet. It was far to much bling for myself so I had my Omega certified watchsmith restore it back to the way it was supposed to be. This one could be returned to OEM spec too I’d imagine.

Oh..... that’s is something different. I feel like watches are most beautiful when using a combination of different finishing techniques. For example I love how omega and other brands use both brushed and polished finished on their watches. Truly something beautiful.

Since we are already asking newbie questions: what's the significance of the extra 'e' at the end of cape cod(e)?

For a contrast, has anyone ever seen the opposite, where a watch has had its shiny surfaces replaced with the brushed finish? 😵‍💫

Is that real? Almost looks photoshopped!

Just out of interest, does anyone know if this strap will fit my Seamaster in the pic below? And if so, is there a name or reference number for the strap? The strap on mine feels a little dated compared to my more modern Speedmasters.
Thanks. Rob
Yes, the Speedy style bracelet will fit the full size Seamaster of this era. The 2254 came with the Speedy bracelet and the 2054 with the Bond bracelet. They use the same watch case.

I have seen some Rolex guys who take the polished center link (PCL) in watch bracelets such as the GMT and have them brushed. It looks good. The PCLs are easily scratched.

I had a Breitling once with the polished two tone bracelet. It was beautiful, but then, it was the 80s and we didn't know better.

I'm with @Kjian414 - I think it's the combination and contrast between the brushed and polished areas that make Omegas (especially my seamaster) so attractive. OK, and Rolex too, although not as much. 😀

My 1st ever Omega (a pre-owned Bond 2531.80) looked exactly like the original picture...I had no idea it wasn't supposed to look that way. Wore it for about a year and wondered one day why mine didn't look like the others I saw on people's wrists. The clasp was so polished I could use it as a wrist mirror.

Sent it off to Omega and got it back looking factory original with the correct finishing.
