Hi there,

I was recently passed down an Omega Seamaster Quartz watch. I just can’t seem to figure out what the reference number would be even after spending hours on the internet. The closest I have found is the 196.0775 Seamaster. However, my case back looks different. I haven’t been able to find once case back that looks like mine. I also haven’t been able to find a case back that has a case where there are four screws on the back. Here are some photos.

thank you!

I have concerns about it being legitimate…

ive never seen Omega so a caseback like that. It also appears to have incomplete gold hallmarks.

but it appears to be late 80’s quartz piece. If you open the inside you should see an omega branded movement. The model number would be on the inside of the caseback and a serial number will be on the movement which a little google use can determine approx age.

thank you! I will try to take the case back off safely. Any suggestions on what I can use to get a snap case back off?

It looks fine to me. This case appears to be a 14k pale yellow gold version - came in full 18 k gold and 9 k gold.

Cheers, Al

Agree,

Al, have you seen a 4 screw caseback before on a gold watch?
