Thank all so much for your help. I heard back from the Japanese dealer and they do not having the missing links. I may go look around NYC on a day off to see if I can find that Trilogy Seamaster here. I also came across a seller on this forum selling the current Seamaster that was my second choice. It's less than I would pay from the dealer here. Any thoughts on sellers on this forum?

I am going to do a little more research on my day off this week.

Thanks again for all the useful information, very much appreciated!

There are lots of great, trustworthy sellers on here. But it is still important to do your own due diligence. Have a look at the Seller Profiles and Reviews section for more information about particular sellers.

Having some patience is a good idea when purchasing second hand. So don't rush. Upload some photos when you land that watch!

I have purchased from Overseas on Chrono 24. All went well ( and that was vintage)
There are always risk with shipping but it looks Ok to me. And an Omega service would cover most issues a modern watch might have even from a reputable dealer. Their feedback looks fine.

I bought a lightly used and fully complete Speedy Tuesday 1 from @mdgrwl two years ago at a very good price. Super reliable and honest, you will have no problems with them. Wire the money and the watch gets air FedEx'ed to you. No fuss, no muss. Highly recommended seller. You can also check out their website: Watch Exchange Co. (watchexchangecompany.com)

Obligatory pic because this thread has had no pics so far.

Stray asterisk in that post, my apologies.

Hey
So I finally got the Omega Seamaster 300. It's the 1957 Trilogy that I purchased on Chrono24. It was shipped from Japan to New York City and took a little time in customs. I took it to the Omega store in New York to have the bracelet shortened and now I love it. I figure if there was something not right with the watch they would notice. Anyway, thanks for the help with this. I've always wanted an Omega and I love this watch.

I took a chance on an eBay watch from Moldova. It was exactly what I wanted and as described. Did raise my opinion of one of the poorer EU countries.
Moldova is not part of the EU, at least not yet.

I've been genuinely scammed only once, and the seller was an Aussie. I've also made bad purchases from exotic places, but these were avoidable and I blame myself for being over-enthusiastic and skipping my homework.
