Ok gents, then what about:

the Speedmaster, especially on a nice leather strap, can be a nice improper dress watch! 😁

Perhaps it could well be described as improper, but passable in another respect.
Almost certainly inappropriate in the strictest terms when meeting Her Majesty.

Can look dressy on a strap but a toolwatch cannot pass for a dress watch IMHO. This is like wearing black leather sneakers with a suit, you're not fooling anyone.. 😀. I'll admit a croc strap on a Speedy is my favorite look, especially this one.
Agreed. Dressier on a strap, but still not a ‘dress’ watch IMHO. (And i have one of my own).

My experience - Standard Moonwatch ( especially hesalit) looks much better as a field/ military watch and having it on croco is odd idea. But applied logo, steel- alpha hands and sapphire ( FOIS for example ) make it a bit dressier.

Happened to me around ten times - never wore a Speedmaster 😉

I think that it was this one the last time:

Automatic movement, shockproof, seconds hand complication, stainless steel case, waterproof... That's about as much of a sports watch that I would wear on such an occasion (I realise I am old fashioned 😉 ).

I am guessing it isn't the queen you assume, and bearing in mind she is ultimately Troels boss it isn't a huge surprise he sees here now and then. He is an awful name dropper though!

True. It's different HRM than most on this board thinks of first 😁

(I'll admit to including the two or three times I've met the princes in the number of meets).

Ah, you know, I had read this with my own biases and thought Her Majesty == Queen Elizabeth II

My apologies if I offended.

I think that's the Her Majesty the vast majority would think of 😀

A very nice watch and quite passable on a nice black leather strap I should imagine.

I see Prince Harry often wears an Omega Seamaster.
But one only sees it when he is dressed down a bit.
If he wears it all the time, it's essentially well concealed under the cuff in more formal occasions.

I hope so, because this was my wedding watch.

Very nice on the bracelet.

I wore a D-blue on my wedding day and no Bow tie. Just a normal Neck tie (Windsor knot of course).

proper dress watch, no. 21st century western world idea of a dress watch, maybe.
