Calibre 565 Service Recommendation - SoCal/NorCal

Hello!

I recently inherited a non-running Omega DeVille 166.033 with a bent minute hand (that was my bad, I tried to set the time). Crystal and the original leather strap have seen better days, but it looks like all the pieces are there - the little onyx that broke off from the bent minute hand is still trapped in the case. The worst part is I forgot to take pictures of it.

Goal is to keep this as original as possible, but update what's needed so I can wear it everyday with light water exposure when I wash my hands. I would like to get that minute hand un-bent and the onyx glued back in too, if that's possible.

My question now is I'm deciding where to send it for service given my intentions - ideally somewhere in SoCal/LA area where I live or NorCal. My research on this site & others has narrowed the shops down to the following handful:

- LA Watchworks
- Shant's in Pasadena
- United Watch Services in SF
- World Time in San Jose

Most of the places I've listed seem to be mentioned in the same breath as newer Omegas or Speedmasters - will somewhere like LA Watchworks bother with my calibre 565 movement? Any other recommendations that I'm missing?

Thanks!

I really like using Paul's Watch Shop in Sacramento. I'm not so keen to have to send my watches all the way from Texas to be serviced, but the watches seem to enjoy it and Raimond Irimescu is very good to work with year in and year out.

LAWW does great work (I’ve used them to service vintage Speedmasters) and I would recommend them. They would likely be willing to service/repair a 565 movement. However, keep in mind that LAWW is quite pricey, and you may be better off going with one of the other options who may do just as good a job at a lower cost.
