·Alright.... I'm close! I am planning to go with a new Speedy Pro. @Kringkily has a .005 and the .001, the steel bracelet/leather strap models. I think I plan to go with the steel bracelet, but any other thoughts or considerations before I pull the trigger?
I think you've gone about this a great way, first of all. Well done.
Omega have made a number of different bracelets over the years; certain bracelets are "correct" to specific watches. If you get a new watch with the factory supplied bracelet then you're always going to have the "correct" bracelet for the watch. This is, to my mind, the best way to go.
Later, you or your husband can get alternate leather straps which can be swapped about to his heart's content. Speedmasters have an almost unique ability to look great, yet different, on any leather strap. You can even have them custom made for very little money.
The seller that you make the purchase from is entirely your choice. I don't often buy new watches so I can't give advice on that other than to see the amount of positive feedback that certain sellers have on here.
Finally, as others have said: we want a wrist shot when he gets his gift!
