Hesalite. Now.
The Hesalite crystal completes the look, although I DO enjoy seeing the movement. But I would enjoy the copper color 1861 over a rhodium plated 1863.
There is no protocol for purchases. I have purchased two watches at once on a few occasions. On the flip side, the Speedmaster has been around since 1957, and doesn't appear to be going anywhere. It seems it will always be around, so whenever you're ready is fine. Be mindful that prices of new and values of old likely will rise in time. Maybe the sooner the better?

Only reason is that, I just bought a Rolex. And I'm thinking that an ordinary person like me to have two luxury watches is too much. What do you think?

Wait? If it's a money issue yes, by all means, make a saving plan and wait until you feel comfortable.

If you just want to wait because you have a Rolex already I don't get it. What's going to change by waiting? You will still have the Rolex but won't be able to rotate it or enjoy the speedy.

Watches are one of the few great accessories a man can wear, enjoy and rotate. A speedy and a GMT are so different that you can be comfortable knowing you can wear and do justice to both..... And still have room for a dress watch in there...

I think there are plenty of ordinary people here. I was in the same boat as you a month or two ago, and am looking for a speedmaster to go with my new Planet Ocean. You only live once, and all that...
I would get that nice PO if I don't have a the GMT though. Right. I hear you. thanks

I would wait till the morning...but not any longer.

find yourself a boutique or AD wear your Rolex in and say you want to try some watches on with a view to purchase.

they'll be all over you so quickly you'll probably walk out with two before you realise what you've done.

This forum is like a science project or social study of and for co-dependency gone haywire.

In a good way.

The good news is that if you can figure out who the true tastemakers are, you can piggy back on their collecting style. I won't name names because I'm a coward.

I've probably saved tens of thousands of dollars just following and never leading and I don't mind a single bit...


My ego is less sensitive than my wallet.
