Have been looking to this brand some time ago ,have to admit its quite interesting and several of their watches have this vintage touch.

They state they are from London but don't know if they manufacture there or in Switzerland. Tom Cruise had been spotted wearing them unknown if as some kind of ambassador.

What are you thoughts of Bremont?

 

I think the watches are assembled in Henley, U.K.

I like some of the designs. I find they make their watches quite big and chunky and price wise they are quite expensive for what they are - but many people wear them so they must be ok I guess.

I can think of others I’d buy at their prices however

 

I think our fellow member pongster owns one and he is pleased with it. I do like them myself but I don't have pongster's budget

 

Sitting on the fence over Bremont, like some of the designs but they are pricey and in watch terms very new to the marketplace so long term reliability and build quality is still being tested. I think that I will buy one as I live in the UK and the Company is UK based so I feel that I should support their endeavour, just not totally sold on the brand as yet so monitoring the situation for the moment.

Make sure you get a good look at the side of the watch. A lot of them are like this and that’s not visible from a lot of the images you see online. Even some of their smarter watches are like this.

 

Is theres something more than esthetical?

 

I quite like some of them. I had one on loan (MBII) from a friend a while back. He is a pilot and he loves his. I found it very well-made and accurate with great legibility, and his had that orange casework. I would look into one were they not so similar to the German (Sinn, Damasko) tool watches I own, at several multiples of their price, but I can see the attraction of those overbuilt pilot watches, and they do seem to work at connecting with and supporting their customers, which few would accuse Sinn, Damasko, etc of doing.

 

I find them nicely understated, stylistically like an IWC Pilot or some of the Breitlings, but I don't know anything about the quality of the movements. Was watching a BBC mini-series on the Battle of Britain this week and noticed they'd sponsored the restoration of a Bristol bomber.

 

I have been to the factory and seen them made. The cases are made in UK and the watches assembled in an Oak Frame converted barn. The movements come in from Switzerland. There is a new factory being built and Nick English ‘s goal was to have a U.K. made movement.
I found many of the cases very large not sure if they are for me. Though it is good see a good U.K. base manufacturer.

Yes, fred’s budget is not the same as pongster’s budget. Because fred’s budget > pongster’s budget.

 

I have three: Supermarine S2000 and S500 and MBII. I see them as high-quality, well-engineered watches. They use modified ETA as well as others I believe, so the movements are proven and reliable, but it's the build quality that stands out for me: really solid, pieces that look good and function as timekeeping tools. Also, CS is outstanding and it's pretty easy to get someone on the 'phone or by email. I had one (S2000) that had to go back for warranty work for a stiff crown - although it functioned fine, I just noticed it felt different to when I'd last changed the time - and the turnaround was pretty quick at about 3-4 weeks. I've gradually been replacing my Breitlings with them and the MB is my first non-diver and is super wearable and solidly engineered. You can tell I like the brand, and now that I've given my Rolexes to my children, I can see myself only having these and my Omegas in the future.
