Friends, I’ve an opportunity to buy this watch at around $15000 in a mint condition with box and papers. I checked the movement, that is 2310 Lamania, similar to cal 321, if I searched right. My request is to take the feedback from the members who have had experience with this watch to help me decide. Thanks for helping me. Regards
I don’t know jack shit about Breguet but that dial doesn’t seem like anything Breguet would sign. Who knows? A lot of weird stuff goes on in watch world..: *edit Breguet isn’t very popular around here... Anyway, I’ve NEVER seen an enamel dial look that sloppy. Shouldn’t it look more like this?
The authenticity of the watch is not in question here; it’s a genuine piece indeed. My query is about the aesthetic aspect of it. At first glace it appeared very attractive with unique dial and beautiful movement. Later on I got confused if it’s its worth or not. This is a place where we novice are initiated into the nuisances of such details. I’m patiently waiting for someone to pitch in and help me in this. Thanks for your opinion.
I’m trying to be as nice as possible (im a really nice fella) so sorry I was beating around the bush. That watch looks like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Personally, for 15g’s, I’d grab a nice Rose Gold Breguet Type 20 for 8.5 and maybe a mint JLC Maater Calendar or a Reverso with the remainder. You can get a really nice reverso for 7.5 and if you wind up hating it, you can fold out w/ a push (or, better!) I hope someone who knows what they’re talking about will step in here to help you but like I wrote - Breguet isn’t popular around here for whatever reason(s). -rich
So only few were sold I conclude looking at the response I have here. Apparently no active member has or had it. My bad....
Way too many overlaps on the dial. I find this incredibly hard to read. There are many vintage chronos out there with a similar but more coherent style (below a random example from Google).
In my opinion, yes. Personally I'd buy and wear neither as I'm not fond of dial elements overlapping each other and cut-off numerals, but I think the contrast on the Omega is better, mainly due to the smaller, circular design of the telemeter (as opposed to the Breguet's tachymeter), the more clearly defined subdials and the thicker hands.
There's a brief review of this watch by a member on WatchProSite: https://www.watchprosite.com/breguet/classique-chronograph--5247/1.797163.5349768/ Make sure you can verify authenticity before you buy; as there seems to be a lot of replicas out there.
That’s really a great input indeed. Thanks Vitezi. I’m buying from the AD who sold this watch originally to the present buyer! Therefore it’s 100% authentic Bréguet watch.
Seller reduced the offer to $11,5000. He wants to sell it today. I think I’d take it. Thanks to all for help.
