Are there OBs (USA) that are still adding people to a list?

I don't believe so. My OB in VA is not. They have a list of approx. 13 with 50% deposits.

Houston OB said EW321 isn't going to happen for me when I asked if I could get on the list towards the end of 2021.

Will Omega discontinue the Steel 321 in near future?

Nobody actually knows, one way or the other.

On one end of the spectrum, an OB manager told me that even though it’s not a numbered limited edition, Omega still plans to only make ~5,000, and the main reasons for avoiding a numbered limited edition were to avoid various practical challenges that emerge when pieces are numbered and a public max number attributed to the run of watches. On this view, another year or so and they’ll shut down the NEW321.

On the other end of the spectrum, are folks who intuit from the armchair (perhaps reasonably) that Omega would continue to sell them in limited numbers, indefinitely, because why not. Ok this view, they’ll drip them out for the foreseeable future, seeking only to keep demand high and supply reflectively slow.

I personally think the former view is more likely than the latter, but again, no one actually knows - including perhaps Omega, who are quite likely just taking things as they come.

To add on to your thoughts, what could trigger a change is if they decided to do another SS 321 model, like a 145.012. They could stop production of the EW and then pivot to that one next.

I think this is a possibility. I think they will continue to make the movement in limited quantities , it makes sense given the investment in resurrecting the 321.
However, to maintain exclusivity, they may change the models available that use the movement. I don’t know anything, just speculation, seems reasonable.

That would be most awesome... what a pair - Speedmaster & Speedmaster Pro Moonwatches, both with 321s 🥰

Also want to add, Omega needs a moonshine gold 321 to complete the collection: platinum, steel WG, RG, and YG.

Maybe Speedy Tuesday 2024?

10:00: models "will stay in the lines and that's why we don't limit any products now, since 2 years"

that, to me, is saying the models will continue to be produced but you can never fully trust any CEO's words

strangely close to first putting words in his mouth and then saying he’s lying 😁

RJ of Fratello had mentioned in his Canopus 321 video that Omega will no longer be producing any limited editions watches. Let's see if this will be the case

Exactly. The Omega CEO was asked point-blank a year or two before the 321 came out whether they would ever reissue the movement and his answer was a flat "no"...yet here we are.

That was Stephen Urquhart if I remember correctly. He also claimed that the Speedmaster Professional would never be METAS-certified, but he left the wheel to Aeschlimann in 2016-17.
