19mm lug width according to the website. I wonder if the bracelet will fit my FOIS...

Curious too see if NASA is done with the 3861 standard moonwatch released soon too.
I doubt it ... or at least I doubt that Omega is done with the NASA affiliation. With the Artemis program gaining momentum, I can't believe that Omega won't put a full court press behind the effort to get the Speedy back to the Moon in some configuration.

I'm not super impressed. Lot of money for that watch IMO

Looks nice but based on RJ's article it will be hard to get one even it isn't a limited edition...

How would a watch produced in 2020 be pre-moon?

Exactly, the original is pre-moon with no NASA writing and this is a reissue of that watch!

Another thing I like about this reissue is the lugs, there are no bevel facets so its in line with the 64 Ed White's - the ref he wore on his EVA.

Omega is spot on with this release in my opinion. So cool to see a well designed straight lug speedy as a new part of the product portfolio. I really need to see it in person before judging the sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel.

Yes, finally a nice looking modern straight lug case. The FOIS and 60th both looked too funky

I'm surprised at the comments

I think its a stunner

Step dial, radial sub dials, 39.7mm case!! true straight lugs, gorgeous flat link style bracelet, applied logo, the dial will likely be matte black/grey mix in the light. Super legible and everyday usable. Ceramic bezel and sapphire makes it a modern day glorious wear.

Big fan. The domed sapphire is a small compromise and I'm entirely happy with the wearability and optical quality of them recently. We don't need to re-open to hesalite vs sapphire debate. This is a modern day re-issue. I'm curious to know if the 321 in any way has been modified for the modern day...

Price is way too high for a purchase to make sense. The first few people that "have to have it" will pay a premium, but I don't understand how a market can support this!

If they are overpriced that should be reflected in the secondary market in a year or two. These are likely yet another watch that is best purchased 'slightly used' so the original buyer can take the hit.

These things are going to fly off the shelf, even at that price people will be lining up to buy it. I won't be one of them, but it is a very nice looking Speedmaster

What’s funky on these 2?

That means it is a +$15,000 watch in the US after taxes. With a couple of hundred a year in the US it will be a very hard get, about one watch per OB/AD. You better have a Rolex kind of relationship with your dealer. Not surprised at the price, should have gone solid back. but I can see why they went sapphire back. It would be a shame to hide the movement. A very niche market, but that is what Omega is shooting for now.

This is a nice watch, and the price... Lets say I’m not really surprised.

I think this quote of Robert-Jan is a good description:
“Purists might say it is a pity it doesn’t have a Hesalite crystal and a solid steel caseback, but as I wrote above, it is a watch that will be in the backbone of the Omega collection from now on. It is not meant to be an exact replica of the original 105.003 “Ed White”, but a modern watch for daily use with inspiration from the original 105.003. “

I couldn’t agree more!
