I paid my 20% deposit at the Manchester Boutique the day it was launched, I do hope I get the watch. I would imagine I was on top of the list but never bought from this shop or had an omega before so don’t know where I stand.
I’m not a flipper, hopefully I will get it or I will be gutted.

Interesting a UK boutique actually took money from you for this? Didn't think they could do that legally. I didn't at mine.

I put down the full deposit in March. I know that there were a couple of people ahead of me but we did it in a Boutique so I’m thinking we have a really good chance of getting one.

I think anyone who manages to lose the box and papers on possibly the most historically significant piece Omega have knocked out since the original speedy deserves to take a hit
Anyone who losses a moon watch box need not bother having a watch, as there is something seriously wrong with there eyesight. More chance of miss placing the car!

I think this was discussed before. I thought the reason most don't take deposits is because they become legally obliged to supply the item if a deposit is paid. Perhaps there was a requirement to sign a disclaimer as part of the process?

Indeed it has. I'd be interested to see one of these Boutique 20% receipts with sensitive data redacted of course out of curiosity

Think your right as it says “Order” at the top of the invoice so sounds like a contact to me.

Fingers crossed for you!
They offered me one with that deposit and I went in on that day too. I think you will get one no problem.

I think for those that have put down 100% deposits in Feb/March/April 2019 timeframe (mainly US buyers), and for those in other markets who paid in full after the May 17th unveil will be 'ok' to get a watch. Partial deposits (say, 20%) will probably be 'ok'. Those that are just on a wait list somewhere with no money put down you are at the whim of the AD or OB, you may or may not get a watch depending if more 'worthy' people are on said list, nothing guaranteed.

I just hope a new standard moonwatch with all these upgrades like movement, bracelet and finishings is on it's way. Probably a push to get the speedy in a similar price bracket to a Rolex but I like the thinking. Onwards and upwards

I placed a 100% deposit the weekend following the May 17th unveil at my local OB and was told my allocation *should* be secure. Keeping my fingers crossed that comes through as promised. As for delivery timeframe, I was told that’s a whole different story! I’m hoping for some time before end of 2019.

Cheers, just been to a VIP event at OB Manchester UK where I placed my deposit, I have been told I will 100% get the watch. They had been allocated 8 extra today so my mate placed a 20% deposit but he also had to sign a waiver in case they cannot fulfil the order. Tried it on with the gold one as well, did not like the gold one, love the silver one

That's fantastic news! I was invited to attend that event (but couldn't make it due to teaching commitments). Was it a good evening?

It was good, very busy and nice drinks. They had watch parts all disassembled with an eye piece thingy, the watch face details close up are unbelievable especially the one that looks like a fossil or somert lol. I wanted to also buy a standard moon watch which is £3810 and I have seen brand new un worn ones for 3150 and exactly same model number and five year warranty but they would not price match.

Enjoy the 50th!

Standard moon watch is readily available with discount at ADs in the UK, Ernest Jones gave me over 10% quite easily.

Maybe not the right occasion to try and haggle? Glad you enjoyed the evening.
