Hello all, I have a ‘79 Speedy 149.022 reference with an original 1171 bracelet. I’m looking to get another bracelet that feels a bit more “substantial”. I’m kinda clueless what bracelets are direct replacements for the 1171 and would appreciate any advice.

The 1171 is the correct bracelet for a 70’s Speedmaster.
You could try a 1450 but 1) they’re very expensive as Omega don’t make them anymore and 2) it’s not period correct so the Endlinks might need some slight modification.

Or you could try and generic from Uncle Seiko or Forstner. Fraction of the price but good quality and mimic some Omega bracelets. Just made by third party.

I’d second this. I’ve got bracelets from both Uncle Straps (formerly Uncle Seiko) and Forstner. IMO both are good value. One thing I like about the Uncle Straps bracelets is that his pressure clasp will take an Omega clasp cover, if you want to make one of his bracelets look more like an Omega bracelet.
