Hello everyone,

I'm quite new to vintage Omega, and I was wondering if you could give me a hand with understanding what my options are in terms of metal bracelets for my 166.070:

According to the reference bracelet chart, it came with the 1168/605, which I don't really understand, as thi nis a flat-link bracelet for 60s speedmasters, if I understand correctly.

Before I found the chart, I was looking for a 1037 (to me, beads of rice looks like a much more natural fit than flat-link) with straight (not curved) endlinks, and I got the impression that the 570 would probably work, my case being quite similar to this Seamaster (166.020), which is on a 1037/570.

Thank you in advance!

It is likely that this watch came on a leather strap. Usually (but not always) the bracelets on the reference list were sold as optional accessories, rather than coming with the watch. 1168/605 is an oyster style bracelet. I don't think a BOR was offered as an option for this watch and it would probably be anyone's guess how it would fit without trying it.

Agree the ‘oyster’ style 1168 with 605’s is the factory bracelet here.
I don’t think a bead of rice with 570’s is a factory option but it could probably be made to fit.
I have a feeling the 30 or 630 Endlinks for the tradition flat link 1035’s may also fit.

UPDATE — I wrote to Omega, and they replied that unfortunately, no compatible steel bracelet exists for the 166.070, haha!

Presumably they mean they don’t have a bracelet in current production for that reference. The bracelet listed above is correct but no longer available so will need to be sourced from the used market

This and maybe a new produced one would fit if attached to and with vintage endlinks.

Yes, that sounds reasonable. I did find it funny though that they phrased it as "no bracelet exists for your watch". 😀
