·Bought this Aqua Terra 38.5mm Master Co-Axial blue dial as a birthday gift to myself. It came from a reputable dealer, full set with box, warranty card, pictograms, and matching serial numbers on the caseback and movement.
At first glance, everything looked right. But after spending some time inspecting it, I’ve noticed a few things that are making me second-guess myself:
To be clear, I’m not accusing the dealer of anything. They have a good reputation and sourced the watch specifically for me. I’m just trying to understand whether:
I’ve attached detailed photos. I’d really appreciate opinions from Omega collectors, owners of the same reference, and especially any watchmakers who have experience with these movements.
Am I overthinking this, or would these points make you pause as well?
At first glance, everything looked right. But after spending some time inspecting it, I’ve noticed a few things that are making me second-guess myself:
- There’s a noticeable mark/smudge on the rotor. The dealer described the watch as being in excellent condition and likely never serviced. If that’s the case, what could cause a mark like this?
- I can’t see a visible Si14 engraving on the balance spring. When I stopped the movement and looked closely, I could only make out the Omega logo and text. Since this is a Master Co-Axial model, I was expecting to see Si14 somewhere on the balance assembly.
- The crown appears much shinier than every example of this reference I’ve been able to find online. Has anyone seen this before? Could it simply be polishing, a replacement crown, or something else?
To be clear, I’m not accusing the dealer of anything. They have a good reputation and sourced the watch specifically for me. I’m just trying to understand whether:
- Everything here is completely normal,
- The watch may have had some parts replaced or work done in the past,
- Or if there are any genuine red flags that deserve further investigation.
