That’s the dial!! But branded with a different model (which is not unusual in the Omega world either. Is it possible this was recased?

I think it is more likely that the dial layout was used for several product lines.

So can we assume with some certainty that this is the real deal?

And looking back at the examples I posted earlier, the second Bristol does have the same short lugged case.

It arrived, and it’s spectaular! I feel like I lucked out on this one-perhaps karmic payback for the dogs I have purchased in the past- we win some, we lose some.

@JwRosenthal I'm calling dibs on this beauty
Whoops, Sorry, @JwRosenthal, I used the wrong account to call dibs. I meant to use this one. When you are ready to part ways with this Certina, shoot a message to this OF account. Thanks. 🙄 😗

(It is worth a shot, right?)

It begs the question: why are you using several accounts?

Sorry, my sense of humor obviously didn't come across in print.

I do not have multiple accounts, I was trying a little sarcastic humor in appreciation of what I thought was a nice pickup by @JwRosenthal, and the "dibs" by @vintage hab. Just a joke, nothing more intended. Sorry for any confusion. And, apologies to VH if he thought I was truly poaching.

To be absolutely clear: JW, please, if you choose to honor a dibs should you ever part with this watch, please give VH a call, not me, he posted dibs.

(Of course if he changes his mind......oh, there I go again!::stirthepot::😟)

I was confused but now I am clear, @Ritzwatch was doing a little role playing- we don't kink shame on OF 😉

Appreciate the praise on the watch from both @vintage hab and @Ritzwatch - I wore it last night in both of your honors. I am in the middle of contemplating a cold unemotional purge so will keep you both in mind if this doesn't make the cut- in dibs order.

I have only had 1 Certina from the 1950's, so I am not an expert but I have admired this brand for a few years. It is an interesting watch, and a real mix of design cues from the various decades. The dial looks like a 1950's design but the painted lume looks like tritium, which could be 1960's to 70's. The case definitely looks like a 1960's to early 70's design. There is no T at the bottom of the dial, which is normally present from the late 60's on but it may have been sold, or cased in a market where that wasn't required. The hands have a real 1940's UG look but it doesn't look like they are radium filled.

Lovely watch and probably a lot cheaper than a Suveran.

Since I purchased this one I have seen a few other Bristols, none with this exact dial but it was apparently part of a line. It's a curious era for Certina (late 60's early 70's I think). Would be interested to see brochures from this period as we all know the DS line pretty well, but not their "dressier" stuff as much.

It certain looks nice enough to wear. And it appears you own it now. I’d say it’s a good thing.
