Wasn’t there something a while back where 75% of Americans didn’t know where half the world is on a map….

Not forgetting ASTO @JimInOz ,myself and a few others tried to get going years ago….
Australian States & Territory’s Only

Like anyone cares about Australia. I never even heard of the place until I joined up here.

God bless America, and nobody else.

“Mine is that they are simply too lazy to fill out a form.”

- Shipping locally usually implies putting a name and address on the box.
- Shipping internationally usually has a process involved...involving a CN22/23 form.

As an occasional seller from CONUS, i have had sales to Australia fall through after the buyer didn't want to pay for shipping and insurance. I've had shipments in both directions delayed weeks. I've had shipments lost. Rightly or wrongly, there is an an extra element of risk when a package crosses a border, even to Canada. It's easier to swallow the risk for a more inexpensive item.

I have also purchased from Canada, Japan, Thailand, Poland and New Zealand (none of which I know where they are, except New Zealand because it's the capital of Australia). So I shouldn't have a problem with selling to Europe. It doesn't make complete rational sense, i admit. But it makes me nervous to sell a 10k watch to Europe.

As far as lazy, I am lazy, but will overcome my laziness to sell a watch. Selling sucks, period. But it's just one more form out of so many.

To address the OPs question, if the seller is anything like me, it's just lack of experience or being a nervous ninny.

Here's a secret: we don't know tHe difference between North Dakota and South Dakota (yes, there are two Dakotas, not one big Dakota.)

The hardest is South Dakota. It seems to be because of the word 'South', which feels like it should be someplace warm.

All in good fun, natural.

BTW, GO PHILLIES!

I recollect many road direction signs around Boston MA which on the same post could say I 123 North and I 456 South. I also remember "Traffic Circles", which as a very recent european immigrant I understood and could play to my advantage over the slightly less recent immigrants.

I appreciate all of the insight. For the record, the ad stated worldwide shipping, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. I'm still waiting for a response from the seller to see if he will accept an address other than mine.

Again, Thanks

Why so complicated? Once you found your 3. Party for shipping, you add his name and address into your PayPal shipping addresses. Then it's fine for the seller to ship to this person.

There is a fun Disney film titled "The one and only Original Family Band." which attempts to explain this. Currently not streaming due to the political nature as it is about the contested 1888 presidential election between Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison. Some good Sherman brothers songs in it.

Most interesting is this was Goldie Hawn's debut film. She plays a dancer who has one line and steals most of the scenes from Leslie Anne Warren. Kurt Russel of course is in it, but they do not have any scenes together.

If there is one thing us Americans are worse at than geography is history...

I have no problem decrying Americans’ ignorance of geography and the rest of the world, but in my experience second place in the geography ignorance category is everyone else.

Fun read and thanks again to those who have offered to assist. The seller hasn't been much of a communicator however he has agreed to ship to a 3rd party. If there is someone that is willing to receive the watch and ship it to me it would be greatly appreciated and I would make it worth their while.

Feel free to message me if you are interested in getting involved.
