Walked into my AD to pick up my rubber strap and walked out with a 6 month old used Speedy sapphire sandwich. The outgoing 1863 at an amazing price I couldn’t resist. Full box and papers. Still covered with over 4yrs of Omega warranty.
They even offered to open it up and have it regulated but I said I’ll wear it for a week or so and see what kind of accuracy I’m getting. What do you guys think? @Archer I had him change the program on the timegrapher to an omega caliber. Close enough?

I initially liked the 20 yr old hesalite sandwich 3572.50 they had but the pricing just didn’t feel right.

Well, the lift angle is correct and it's nice to see 5 positions, although I always test over 6. Were these taken with the watch fully wound, and the chronograph off? I will assume they were for now.

Average rate and positional variation are well within specs, however the amplitudes are low in some positions. The thing that would cause the most concern for me is that the dial up and dial down balance amplitudes are nearly 30 degrees different. These should be within a few degrees of each other, and the very low amplitude of 244 dial down is a sign that possibly the lubrication in the cap jewel is insufficient. A horizontal position like dial up or dial down should not have the lowest amplitude...

    Cheers, Al

@Archer thanks for the insights. I assume he fully wound it but cannot be sure. The warranty card was dated 9/2020 but the watch could have sat around in the store for most of last year due to covid lockdowns. I am not too concerned as it is still under warranty but could that be a reason for the insufficient lubrication? Would regulation help at all? Thanks.

The timekeeping is within spec, so it's not something to be solved with regulation.

Quick update: Swapped out bracelet for a strap and also getting pretty good timing now. Haven’t found an overnight position that loses time but can get it pretty close to +6spd overall.

I am glad I got the sapphire sandwich and the look is growing on me. I also find myself staring at the movement a lot more than I thought!
