Hello all,

Just wanted to share my POV that when decide to sell a watch, give it a week and wear it for that week and see if your feelings towards it change. You may feel like might not want to let go of it after that week. This is what happened with my 2531.80 that I bought last year from its original owner. It took me 5 months to find an example that met all my criteria:

- Full set
- Never polished or refinished
- No major dings or dents

It's been about a year of ownership and over the past 3 months its been in the shadows of my newer gen SMP 300m and PO taking up majority of the wrist time. So I decided to sell it but wanted to send it off to Omega for a factory service before doing so. Actually when I purchased the watch the red dot was intact on the case back so it was never opened; a plus in my opinion and I knew this before purchasing. The Seattle Omega SC took excellent care of the watch and followed my instructions to not polish the case but to touch up the bracelet. They actually praised this example and the condition it was in. 6 weeks later and it was back on my wrist...for only a day, and then I put it away and listed it for sale.

Admittedly I priced the watch on the higher end given the $650 I paid for the full service and considering this is, in my opinion, a prime example of a 2531.80 that a collector would want. Earlier this week I wore it and it hasn't been off my wrist since and I've decided not to sell it. Now that the bracelet is refinished I just love it even more. Something about the classic look of it and the lightness that my other watches lack are things I now admire.

A few years ago I had a PO 2201.50, full set, never polished and with a 2500D movement. Omega did the full service on it and I enjoyed it for a few months before I sold it. Biggest...regret...ever. I still curse myself for letting that one go and certainly didn't want to make that mistake twice. The point I'm trying to make is when you decide to sell a watch, think it over and wear the watch for some time to see if your feelings change. Had I done that with my PO 2500 I would still have it to this day.

Now I'm looking to update the clasp with an adjustable clasp. I know the 2254.50 guys have done this but the bracelet on the 2531.80 makes this a little trickier - has anyone done this and if so can you please provide a parts list? Appreciate any direction on this.
