I recently moved to the Detroit area, so I went into the Omega Boutique in the Somerset Collection Mall in Troy today. I told them I loved my 39.5 PO, but I wasn't thrilled with its limited 3 position clasp adjustment. I also told them I had heard the 43.5mm PO clasp would fit my 39.5. They summoned their watchmaker, and he wasn't sure, so he pulled out a 43.5 from the case and looked at them side by side. "Yes," he said. "These do look interchangeable."

He got to work changing the clasps and removing one link (to compensate for the longer 43.5 clasp). He was MUCH faster than I am with the tiny screws on this (and the Aqua Terra) bracelet. Of course, I expected he'd be faster, but not 10x faster. Anyway, I tried it on, and it still felt big, so he took out another link. Now it's perfect!

Right now it is hot and humid in SE Michigan. I am going from air conditioned rooms to hot/humid outside a lot right now, and this new clasp with 6 adjustment positions works MUCH better.

The watchmaker had quoted me $250 when he first brought out the clasp. When he rung me up, the computer showed a price increase to $298. He apologized for not knowing about the price for the clasp, and he offered some swag in compensation. Shout out for the Boutique in Troy!

Wow, everyone with a 39.5 PO should make this upgrade. It makes a huge difference.

Welcome to SE Michigan! I live in Dearborn. I'll second the shout out to those guys at the OB in Somerset! I'll never forget how well they took care of me when I had a bad mishap with my two week old Moonwatch. You can always find a cheaper price than the OB but you will NEVER find better service after the sale IMHO.

Please could you share the part number of the bigger clasp? Which watch was it actually from?

    Thanks

    - 0117STZ001154 - 6 Micro Adjustments (no divers extension, the one used on the first generation Seamaster 300 Master-Coaxial)

    - 0117STZ001159 - 6 Micro Adjustments and with a divers extension. (43.5mm P/O, Diver 300M)

    - 0117STZ004666 - 3 Micro Adjustments and no divers extension. (39.5mm P/O, etc)

All are interchangeable with each other.

0117STZ001154 - On the left, 6 micro adjustments, no divers extension.

0117STZ001159 - On the right, 6 micro adjustments with divers extension. It is slightly longer in length (on the outer clasp itself) compared to the other. Something to keep in mind.

OK, just to clarify -- they're the same length but with different adjustments?

Different lengths. 6 adjustments versions are longer than the 3 adjustments clasp (More space needed to add the 3 more extra grooves cut into underside of the clasp for the extra adjustability).

Then the 6 adjustments version with the divers extension is even longer as the clasp needs the extra space to house the folded up divers extension.

OK, that makes sense. I'd like the extra adjustment, but would want to see difference in length. I'm guessing it isn't a huge difference.

For me, the additional length meant taking out 2 links on the 39.5 PO bracelet to make it fit perfectly.

The part # is 0117STZ001159. It has 6 micro adjustments and a divers extension.

Welcome to Michigan (I'm near Grand Rapids). I've been a loyal customer of the Somerset boutique for years now. Nick is the best (David too).

Service is top notch and i love that they are willing to "experiment" with parts to ensure a watch fits just as you want it to.

Thanks! I lived near Chelsea before I moved to the UP, so moving to Oakland County is kind of like coming home.

I was really impressed with this Boutique. I'm glad to hear several other members have had great experiences there, too. Seems like it's no fluke.
