Body Aches… What’s Hurting Today?

My son put me on a kettlebell routine, and it fixed my back pain. Now, everything else hurts.

I did say I’d trade anything to lessen my back pain. It’s almost like 80% of the back pain just moved around, becoming exactly 80% pain somewhere else.

I’m not sure it was a good trade.

I have had various back pains for years as you say they just seem to move about at whim.

Have you tried kettlebell? Combined with various rubber band stretches, my back pain is well controlled. If I have a rough week traveling then the bastard sneaks back. Add to a healthy diet, I can see the next decade relatively more pleasant than the last.

Usually my knees or lower back from injuries years ago. Today? My left trap is nagging.

What do I do? Exercise, stretching, swimming, and chiropractor once a month. Also use a muscle gun, though not often en.

Also now wear knee sleeves and a back belt when going heavy on lifts.

This all reminds me of the old Ferlin Husky & Johnny Cash song “I feel better all over (more’n anywheres else)”.

Part of my routine. One week, straight bar. Following week, trap bar.
Excellent. I purposely don't go too heavy on DL anymore but really do feel it's the best overall exercise. Stay strong my friend.

I realize heavy is relative, but I still go heavy for me. If my back and joints allow, I want to try a competition next year. No chance at winning. Just want the experience

Mri last year showed up severe scoliosis in my lower back. I'd been chewing through painkillers for years. Could only work 3 days a week. Physio didnt help. Started visiting a chiropractor and in the last nine months things have improved a lot. He says it'll never be right but its so much better and I rarely need painkillers nowadays. I'm 65 and aches and pains are one of the joys of getting old. A lot of people haven't had that luxury so I try and count my blessings.

Today the ringing in my right ear is back with attendant equilibrium issues. For an audiophile and a sailor desperate to squeeze the last out of an awful summer … this is hell. Steroids are the scrip.

A touch of sciatica. Been suffering since Sunday, but today at least I can stand completely upright today.
Haven't missed a day of work, either. When you're of a certain generation, you show up regardless of how you feel. You stay home for fevers and contagious illnesses.

I struggle with ongoing pain from past accidents and a series of surgeries a couple years back.

I got into Tai Chi a while back. It seems to help. There is also a mental aspect to Tai Chai probably equivalent to Yoga. I’d recommend Tai Chi for anyone who has the inclination.

There is also a new class of painkillers coming out that are not opiate based. A client at work was put on them after having serious ankle work he speaks highly of them. Hopefully they help people without all the damage opioids have and are doing.
