Osteoarthritis pain on my left pinky and trigger finger on both middle fingers from too much golf i guess. I switched to jumbomax grips which is of great help. My friend made this funny comment that if he wakes up in the morning with pain, that means he is still alive hehehe.

Most things most the time from bones and muscles starting in my upper arms and radiating to my wrists and palm plus finger bones bilaterally. Chest area from shoulder to shoulder with deep intercostal pain where the ligaments terminate each joint in the ribcase.
Yesterday had sharp pain in a scary place but consulted an organ anatomy layout only to find nothing other than the gal bladder in that region, was thinking pancrease but wrong side phew! Having had some cousin's pass recently from this.
Inflammation in the regions brings on the unfortunate result of your brain being in a weird opposite place to happiness making you have quite thoughts of imminent doom which are fed into with all the relatively severe chest and arm pains.
No official diagnosis and no known treatment.

Change of weather here in NC has given me a headache, some light body aches and a sore throat.

I've got plenty of vitamin C to take care of it.

Goddamit. Every year or so, my lower right back explodes in excruciating pain (it feels like it originates just inside and below the ileac crest). I’m living with it now. I suspect it’s SI joint dysfunction. Moving, standing, shifting is agony. Thankfully, sitting to play drums is fine. Standing up or getting in and out of a car? Insane pain.

The cruel irony here is me trying to remain healthy and maintain the same fitness level at 64 that I’ve enjoyed since my twenties. Chalk it up to overdoing crunches and/or split squats at the gym. I reckon my form is terrible. I know, I know: crunches are no longer considered safe nor as valuable as planks, and doing the same routine and weights as I’ve always done is asking for trouble.

I’m a slow learner. 🤔

Went heavy on squat today. I felt fine as I racked it...then my left knee immediately had a shooting pain.

Walking around (tenderly) with a compression sleeve on it now, going to ice it shortly

A friend of mine just had a procedure with device implantation called “SI-Bone” - time will tell if it works but he has had a terrible time with his sacroiliac joint.

Still sore, progressively improving. No weighted leg exercises this week. Thankfully I can stationary bike pain free, so at least some exercise there 😀

Maybe need a scan to check your ACL

Probably so, but living in the US it would cost me an Omega to find anything out. Going to take it easy, nsaid, and ice for 2-3 weeks before visiting a doctor.

Osteoarthritis, the gift that keeps giving. But it hasn't been as bad lately, don't ask me why. But I still won't test my knees beyond a leisurely walking pace. What works--acetaminophen will do, a tramadol when it doesn't. I wish my kidney docs let me take naproxen, the wonder ache and pain drug.

Right shoulder - had surgery on it back in 2004 (they machined away a bunch of bone), but it is still a source of aches - ultrasound, heat, ice, plus that blue menthol stuff at night - I've tried pretty much every topical thing you can imagine, and the blue stuff works wonders.
Update on the right shoulder. Went to my rheumatologist yesterday, and got a nice deep corticosteroid injection in it. Played tennis 2 hours later...feels good today.

My current rheumatologist is a real geek, in a good way. The first time I wore a geeky tee shirt she was thrilled (think it was a Schrodinger's cat shirt). Since then it has been my mission to wear a funny/geeky shirt for every visit, and this year I found the ideal shirt for your rheumatology visit...me wearing it in the exam room while I was waiting...

I won't show it but I have a photo with her beside me holding up the syringe she just used to jab me in the shoulder. This is a teaching hospital so every time I go in for an appointment I have a noob doctor on a rotation in this department, and she was showing him how to do the injection. She was making sound effects through the demonstration...I had to stop laughing long enough for her to give me the shot. I've been going to these appointments for 40 years, so nice to have a fun doc who makes it as enjoyable as it can be...

I am working with someone who has a chronic pain disorder. 8 out of 10 most days. (I deal with it myself to a different degree). Anyway in 2025 the FDA approved the first non opioid pain killer in over 20 years. He should be going on it next month. I forget the chemical name brand name begins with a J. At this time it’s mostly for post op. It’s supposed to cut off the pain signals before they reach the brain. The economist did a write up on it.

I’m glad they are letting this guy try it as it’s really impacting his mental stability. I’m curious to follow the case.

If I had pain at the level of 8 out of 10 I couldn't function. I generally count giving birth as an 8. 10 would be Catholic martyrdom.

It sounds like your work friend is doing some kind of variation of a peripheral nerve block, like is used post surgery. Whatever it is, I sincerely hope it works. It sounds like he is really experiencing hell.

Here is the drug I couldn’t remember the name. I read how it works in greater detail sounds interesting. The gentleman is on my caseload at work, it will be interesting to see how this works as I have others with similar issues that get little relief.
It just doesn’t appear this is being prescribed at a high rate outside the hospital but I’ll be finding more about it now.
