And here's something similar - seamaster and non-chronometre. This is one of the watches that reminds me of the HUGE number of dial variations omega produced - partial textured black dial with mixture of arrowhead markers in WG (with lume) and arabic numbers. A true mishmash of styles.

Here is mine

same dial in a hooded lug case, cal. 501 if I recall correctly...

hard to take good pics on these black dialed beauties though

Have to source luminous hands, as this play is wrong...

Very nice!
I have a similar 14350 to this with a 354 and different dial. Now I must hunt for a black dialed one with white gold arrow markers...

Here's the very same reference in identical trim (albeit a '57) . . .

. . . plus lumed hands and markers, provided on special order to the original retail customer.

I know the backstory of this one first-hand; it's for real, down to the original strap and buckle.

As it happens, not mine. The upside is, I still have both my kidneys.

😀

A lovely watch, but are you adamant that the buckle is from 1957? I'd call that a late sixties / early seventies buckle.

In no way a detraction from a truly beautiful piece.

I was thinking he knew it was a custom made buckle since it was a custom made dial. Could be wrong, not the first or last time for me.

The buckle is not a custom made one, but I've only seen it on later models.

...the part of wrong/right applies for me too, btw 😁

Yup, same here. I thought my white ref 2852 would satisfy my lust for white gold dial furniture, but there's something ominous about a black dial. One of these days . . .

Just noticed your post now, almost five years late.

😀

The strap was old, but maybe only five decades instead of six. Chances are the strap and buckle were changed simultaneously with the crown when the original owner had it serviced. A decagonal crown would've been original equipment, but difficulty winding might've induced the switch to serrated. (The crown is signed Ω.)

Better late than never,
