Hope I did OK on this one. These smaller Omega I am not as knowledgeable as I wished I was. Been looking for a birth year watch for some years now a Rolex sub out of my price range. Being born in 1958 we have less choices than some of the younger forum members. Saw this Seamaster on fleabay full set was sold a month before I was born from the serial number the watch miter be from 1957 or 1958 from info on the net. Think I got a fair price they had make offer and got about 200 off there asking price. Should get it in a few weeks. Kind of rare to have the original box and papers together I think.

One thing I just noticed the dial does not have Swiss made that kind of worries me.

I'm wondering about the crown and the dial. I couldn't find an example of a Seamaster from that era with that crown. That looks like a Constellation crown. Most examples have a clover or scalloped crown.

It may just be the angle that the dial photo was taken but some of the minute markers look like they're not properly spaced around the hour markers. The angle of the photo may also be why you can't see Swiss.

Here is a thread that said some dial's sold not to the USA some times did not have Swiss made on the dial this watch was sold in Germany and did notice Spanish writing on the inside case cover maybe was going to be exported to south America but went to Germany instead ? Should I keep it or try to stop the Ebay sell ?

As I said, Swiss or Swiss Made may very well be there. The angle of the photos are all from the bottom, which may be blocking the view. You really need to get clear, hi res photos of the dial taken straight on.

The seller sent a better photo I guess every thing OK but how hard is it to find a correct crown if it's a replacement ? Guess I will take it still cool to have the paper work and you don't see two tone dials that often.

If that is a flat foot crown it is more rare than the seamaster one.. You could probably trade someone for the right one if its an old one.

Agree. IMO, clover crowns are more commonly available than decagonal ones and this looks to be a correct model for 2852s. Dial looks good to me.

I'd like a 71 era watch. Not sure what nut occasionally look out for one on sales sites.

Looks like a nice pickup to me.

I’m amazed at how those two-tone dials can change appearance so much depending on the intensity and angle of the light source.
