In the age of COVID, which "bad germ" movie kept you up nights? My vote goes to The Andromeda Strain (1971). "There's a fire, sir."
28 Days Later Outbreak John Carpenter’s The Thing (not germ but parasitic). 12 Monkeys And just for amusement- Zombieland Oh, and can’t forget Shaun of the Dead
I've seen it multiple times...one of those movies I watch even if I catch in part way through when channel surfing. I'll add Contagion to the list - best part of that was seeing Paltrow croak early on...
Unfortunately she is also very good at convincing people to buy her nutcase medical cures too...she and Goop are actually dangerous...
Yes, celebrity seems to be a springboard for crazy and dangerous ideas. Too many ready examples to note ...
Andromeda Strain was absolutely the first one that came to mind. Not made into a movie yet, but THE STAND is a good one. Edit: I just Googled this, and apparently a new mini-series is in the works, but put on hold because of COVID. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1831804/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm
One of my favorite books, when I was little. OTOH I've never made it more than halfway through the film. Kept getting hung up on all the tiny, irrelevant details they changed. It's probably worth seeing again, in entirety.
