Thank you LouS. The Ref 7075 I am referring to is another example with silver dial (that is also original). I'll ask permission to the owner to post pictures, or even better I'll ask him to do so as he is also a member of this forum (even though he does not post very often).
As per the Bernardini's one, I agree with you that that double railing in the dial looks strange, which is why I already said that I dont put my hand on fire at all about the dial, but the case, in case the last three digits of the serial match the ones under the lugs, I believe it to be genuine and correcrt

Hi all,
English is not my mother language, so I hope to have a good understanding of what I mean and above all I will speak only about the watches that I follow as a collector (steel chronographs with cases 36 / 38 mm of the mid 1930s / 40s ... Compur, Compax, Unicompax, Aerocompax ... but not Medico Compax )
In order of appearance in the discussion I try to answer the various questions:
- the two-tone gray Compax probably is born for a gold case but in the past there was the possibility to change the dial by the customer ... today you can also find only dials to fit into steel (better waterproof) cases of the 1940s (and not 60s as it might seem) but I see no harm if someone can buy those dials and then mounting them ...... for me is much more appropriate on a steel case than on a gold case
In my opinion (and other people we talked about) this is not a reprint dial even if it may seem like a non perfect graphics
- right: the sandwich dial is reprinted
- @LouS : yes, there are Compax with serial lower than 657xxx (even if you have rightly noted that this watch has a next dial) ... also see later a Compax (also with the next dial ) that you posted with 645xxx serial
- For knowledge: the black Compax with gray writing has a dial with dark pink / bronze indexes ( and no gilt ) and probably has been the most watch admired at the convention
- @LouS: yes, I saw other waterproof cases with the same serial 685xxx
- @rolokr: quiet that there are U.G. cases with a strong pressure ... did not you see it in 40 years of collecting? this is my 7075

Alfredo

Don't see those types of cases in the US, seems like they all stayed in Europe, also I collect UG Tricompax in the beginning, then chronographs , so I was late in the game. I collect other brands other than UG as,well !
