Yesterday went to do a ride, that has been going for about 15 years. So that means 4 am wake up, drive and cold. But it was fun and tough, is really just a fire road. Ride Baja

I feel sorry for all you clean people, with clean bikes and clean gears and clean food and clean crotches.

Haha, it was all clear at the bottom where we parked the cars. Although must admit we could see what we where heading into.😀

I’d actually love to make a trip up to something like that. Not often, but at least once.

A few (quite a few) years ago I was cycling to work regularly and took the MTB (VTT in France). During the afternoon it snowed, about 40mm-worth. Going home on fresh snow was great fun, the grip was excellent and I could go faster than most cars.

The following morning I unwisely took the bike again and suffered in the dirty wet slush that all the passing cars sprayed me with 😡

Edit: with 40cm of snow I'd have stayed put, it was 40mm.

Nice! This reminded me of a winter mountain bike race I did some years ago. Don’t think anyone made it out alive after the first lap including myself 😵‍💫

Tested out the new winter riding boots today. Winter riding sucks but it has to be done 😲

Some great cycling to be had in the snow, image from back in the day and posted previously, I spent many winters in Switzerland and if not skiing I was out on the bike, nothing to beat the scenery and the silence 😀

I have only encountered snow on a bike once.
I was out in the mid-west somewhere, can't remember exactly where...I believe Yellowstone.
It was summer time but there were still little patches here and there on the side of the trails.
Being from Florida, you better believe I rode through each and every one of them haha.
That was on a Gary Fisher hardtail back in 2003 when I was 15.
Such a great trip. Spent a month camping and riding. Hit up Black Hills, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, among others.
I would love to do that trip all over again.

Saw that. Absolutely insane. Also crazy cool. Hahaha

Didn’t ride today, but finally got my build finished! Drama, but happy it’s here. Couldn’t wait for the Enve gum wall tires to come in, but they’ll be on as soon as they’re available again. Riding up through Griffith Park tomorrow to warm up for a century ride on Sunday.

Decided to celebrate the absolute balls up of the Christmas lockdown that isn't a lockdown, but absolutely is, with a quick slide around the Surrey Hills.

What has 2 thumbs and a car with a perfectly good bike carrier on the roof..... at home?

I’d love to get into MTB, but I’m already fighting hours in the day to get on the roadie!

100 miles today for the first time. Garmin shorted me 5 miles, but got the correct total as we started/stopped from the same point. A little cold at the start but warmed up to 81. Winter in Los Angeles, huh?
